It's called promoting talent. They've done the same thing with Manny Pacquiao. Obviously you have to be a certain caliber type of fighter for HBO to make that kind of investment on you so no, it's not just because of HBO. If HBO spent this type of money on Bobby Pacquiao do you think he'd do just as many numbers as Manny? No. If they spent this money and time on Ricardo Mayorga [**** talker] do you think he would do Mayweather PPV numbers? No. Would Gheorghe Muresan's goofy ass have been as popular as Jordan if Nike and the NBA would have promoted him as much as they did MJ? No dip****, he wouldn't. People recognize talent and all HBO was doing was shining light on it. You make it sound like that could have been anyone.
