    Does DeLaHoya/Mayweather do 2.4 mill w/no 24/7?

We all know thats the only reason that did that many buys.

If we only got a countdown show the Friday before the fight it would've done a 1 to 1.5.

    Normal Oscar numbers.

HBO put all their money and muscle into trying to make Floyd more interesting out of the ring than he is in the ring.

Notable fights that did nice numbers w/ only a countdown show:

    Pac/JMM 2
    Cotto/Margarito

And I'm assuming Clottey/Pac will do nice numbers too.

Floyd is nothing w/ out HBO's marketing muscle and creative production team.

All you have to do is look at his ppv #'s before HBO decided to fully back him to see that I'm 100% right.

Its important to put *****s in their place. I think some of them really believe Mayweather himself is a draw and don't realize that HBO has built a brand around him to help him sell fights.

Without HBO he is a pedestrian draw.

          The numbers don't lie.

If the numbers don't lie, then why even make this thread?

the thing is floyd is a big draw but not everyone pays to see him fight and win, alot of people pay to watch him loose and alot of his fans pay to watch him win.and of course hbo have done a great job with floyd

But Pacquiao's had the same HBO marketing muscle and been on the same 24/7 platform as many times as Mayweather.

24/7 made a huge difference. Also the fact that outside of it the fight was promoted like no other fight before. Also both promised a war and a fight like no other so it draw attention. So yeah it's true, thanks to hbo and promoting it like a soap opera it did good.

Thank you. thats all I'm saying. It works for Packy too.

If you go from doing a fight w/ a 24/7 to going to do one without it, you will see a significant drop in ppv buys.

HBO is the rainmaker here, not the fighters.
