Mayweather Threw LESS Power Punches Than Clottey

Clottey threw 237 power punches vs Pacquiao through 12 rounds.

Mayweather threw 177 power punches vs Marquez through 12 rounds.

Just a reminder of how "active" that guy is.

Mayweather is the more skilled fighter of the 2, but if he doesnt throw more punches Pac easily outworks him.

Active as in PED..yeah...however even with Gayweather's low ouput--Pacquiao will not land many punches with Gayweather's movement.

Yeah, and he also caused Marquez to land like 20 in the process...

Oh, and since when is Mayweather a power puncher? He is a very active counter puncher, although he's been more flatfooted recently for some reason...Probably the level of opposition, because he hasn't faced a dangerous opponent since DLH.

floyd doesnt fight anything like clottey, so your point is moot.

              Counter

              2. Sports A boxing blow given while receiving or parrying another.

              Now ...

I usually don't get involved in these debates as I'm a fan of both fighters.

BUT just because Clottey landed more on Manny than Mayweather did on Marquez does not actually dictate how a fight would eventually add up between the two. Hence, why I have the definition of counter above. Mayweather reacts to his opponents, the more his opponents throw, the more he throws. And thus, why he tends to land more on his opposition, reference Compubox for proof.

Floyd fought way too cautious that fight. He should have put it on Marquez, who never had a chance.
