Cotto Can't Rule Out a Future in MMA (Video)

Obviously the trend is if you're career in boxing is coming to an end and/or you cannot land any more big fights in boxing THEN they go to MMA.

So, the only way I can see cotto going to MMA is if he continues to get beat and there is nothing left he can do and he still needs or wants to make money. Just like James Toney & Mayorga.

Well good luck to him---he'll be making only a fraction of what he makes in boxing.

Unlike Toney and Mayorga though, Cotto has other means of generating money whether it be sponsorships and or his own promotional company in Puerto Rico.
Whenever Cotto retires I think he'll be financially set if he isn't already.

Its ok. Most mma fighters are not hard punchers anyway. Cotto will do fine i think and It will be more entertaining than boxing.

Boxing is 36 minutes MMA is 15. Miguel's loses have been brutal. If he loses in MMA it would probably be over quick. MMA is much safer than Boxing. If the money was better im sure alot of boxing would have already gone to MMA.

Maybe he wants to try new things.

Maybe he wants to see how far he can get in another sport.

Maybe he has some ideas on how to optimize boxing for MMA. He could bring the next Machida Karate.
