I don't know. I tend to think that if boxers got into MMA, they'd definitely lose. I don't know why..I just don't think they have a chance.

He didn't say he was jumping right in, but with anything in life you can't ever say never.

But I think once he is finished with Boxing he'll retire. Toney is in the UFC for one reason and one reason only...to get paid.

Cotto's got enough money to never really need to worry about money again along with him having sponsorships and his own promotional company. But I don't think it's a bad thing if he's training some MMA guys (or in this case Torres) to up their Boxing skills.

Obviously the trend is if you're career in boxing is coming to an end and/or you cannot land any more big fights in boxing THEN they go to MMA.

So, the only way I can see cotto going to MMA is if he continues to get beat and there is nothing left he can do and he still needs or wants to make money. Just like James Toney & Mayorga.
