It doesn't make sense !! Can someone explain plz?
Clottey got his ass beat for 12 rounds, of course he is not gonna make any sense.

I don't doubt him when he says Pac's punches didn't hurt him but at the same time he took no chances against Pac.

The punches that hurt you are the ones you don't see coming. He was covering up all night and refused to fire back because when he did, he was hit easily by Pac.

He took the safe route in this fight, I at least give Cotto credit for going out and trading with Pacquiao. Clottey decided he wasn't going to get KO'd by Pacman and just covered up.

I think the only guy to ever say that his opponents punches hurt him is Pac himself. He said it after the Cotto fight ("they really hurt but I just pretend they don't") and after this fight ("Manny, did Clottey's punches hurt you?" "OH YEAH!"). He even said that Morales was one of the hardest punchers he's ever faced.

I think he felt Pacquiao's power which made him tentative but I don't think he was ever hurt in the fight. Maybe those body shots piled up on him though, he was kicking his legs a bit later in the fight which could have meant that those body shots were making his legs go a little.

Clottey could have stayed at home for this. He makes me wonder why he didn't take the fight against Williams when he was offered $600,000.
