Mosley is older than Tito and Oscar

    By a couple years.

I am just regretting that Mosley couldn't get Mayweather in the ring a couple years ago. Would have been great!

i agree, it's not ideal timing, however it's not as bad timing as hokins v jones II.

floyd although a lot younger has been in the sport a long time, and is no longer in his prime either.

He was supposed to be old when he fought Margarito......and Mosley had his chance in 1999 to fight Floyd

B-Hop still got game but he is not fighting the top fighters anymore, he's doing the senior circut thing.

The fight could've happened in 2006, but GBP probably didn't want it since they were preferred a Mayweather-DLH fight. So Mosley went on "vacation" and to the "dentist", and Mayweather fought Baldomir. I read somewhere that Richard Schaefer claims that they gave Mosley (over Oscar) the option to fight Mayweather back then and he declined. I have my doubts about that.

With the build-up for the winner of this fight to face Pacquiao, and the fact that Mayweather and Mosley are considered by nearly everyone to be 2 of the top 3 WWs in the world (the other being Manny), the fight might be more ideal and arguably more meaningful to happen now. Back in 2006, after Mosley-Vargas 2 and Mayweather-Judah, it would've been a fight between a paper titlist at 147 and a fighter who had fought his last two bouts in the 152-153 range. Now it's a matchup between a guy who "retired" as the WW lineal champ, and the man with arguably the strongest lineal claim at WW right now.

I'm not really bothered by the fact that it's finallyt happening now. It's still a great, meaningful matchup. Jones-Hopkins 2, now there's a fight that definitely should've happened years ago.
