if that fight wasn't proof of a bias...

let me clarify, i am not trying to hate or discredit on Manny- believe it or not. but i wonder what an obviously coked-up or senile Jim Lampley was seeing, along with Emmaunel, that i was not.

how great and extraordinary are you against someone who throws 3 punches per round? why is this never considered? again, i am taking nothing away from Manny, but... how was that such an amazing, awe-inspiring performance? CLOTTEY WAS NOT FIGHTING.

if i went and beat up a guy with no arms conclusively for twelve rounds, would you say i was amazing and impressive? doubtful.

when Muhammad Ali beat Jean-Pierre Coopman, noone said how masterful and extraordinary Ali was. they said, truthfully, that Coopman did nothing.

Clottey disappointed me quite a bit. One of the truest things Emmanuel said was that Joshua does not *think* like a champion. He isn't hungry, he doesn't step up to take it. Even Lennox Lewis said he couldn't understand lackluster contenders. this is your time on the world's stage to take your spot, and you go through the motions.. utterly ridiculous.

I don't want to discredit Manny, but really, the media bias is overwhelmingly ridiculous. They've obviously been starving for a superstar that is non-threatening to them. You ********** all over a fighter's performance when he fights someone who fights back- I would hope!

(But really, did anyone else notice Jim Lampley's massive off night? It's ******* or concussion. Sorry, Jim.)

The fact that you were dissapointed in Clottey's performance means you expected more out of him.

Going into the fight, we knew that Clottey's workrate has been his achilles heel, but no one and I mean no one ever shut Clottey down the way PAC did.

Hell, Margarita, once-upon-a-time was a workhorse himself and Clottey went tit for tat with him and the same thing against Cotto.

The fact that Clottey wasn't fighting is a credit to PAC. It wasn't so much Clottey, but what PAC was doin' !!

So, don't tell me that you're not discrediting PAC, because you flatout are !!

Margarita and Cotto were all considered big WWs and at one point were all world-champions and Clottey was competitive against them. Here comes 5'6 guy who started his pro career at 106lbs and just completely demoralized a world-class legit WW !!

Clottey was thrown in there just to make Pacquiao look good.

No, I am not discrediting Manny.. he did what he had to do.

I am criticizing the announce team, and anyone else who felt using your skills against a walking tree was an impressive display of boxing skill.

It's like I said.. if you're hitting someone who doesn't punch you, how is it that astonishing? It would only be so incredible if Clottey was giving it back. And he wasn't. Listen to the announce team. They sound like they're in love, literally.

i was thinking the same, lampley sounded like he was reading a script. everybody knew clottey dont let his hands go. this is why clottey was given the full ww limit.

It is astonishing because Clottey's biggest fights against the top of the division he made a strong case for himself as to why he belongs amongst the top guys. And the fact that PAC completely neutralized him says alot about how good PAC really is !!

listen, if you know anything about boxing.. have studied it whatsoever... you are really wrong here. again, i can't stress enough how much i am NOT TRYING TO DISCREDIT MANNY... but Manny did NOT neutralize Clottey- thats the point- HE DIDNT NEED TO! CLOTTEY WAS NEUTRALIZING *HIMSELF*.

Clottey didn't stop throwing punches because of anything Manny did at all ! He just DIDN'T THROW PUNCHES.

So there was nothing extraordinary with what Manny did! He did a great job at doing things to a sleepwalker- but the way the announce team spoke of it, he was fighting Sugar Rays Robinson and Leonard at the same time!

how was Steward down on Manny whatsoever? because he said Manny wasn't *the* best he's ever seen, but the most unusual? noone can say anyone in the boxing media is down on Pac. far from it.

lol...manny gets hype no matter who he beats and how he does it. he wasnt really imppressive imo. he could have done that to any punching bag in any gym in the world. and clottey was little more than a punching bag the whole fight. i guess im missing the impressive feat in all of this. clottey stood right in front of pac, came forward and took shots with his hands up around his face. it had to be the easiest fight in pac's career but ppl would never say that...i dont get it. the dude deserves his spot as the top fighter. but please call it how it is, thats y boxing has been losing fans for years...
