  • HORUS PRESENTS: WHY NoW???

Why after all these years of tolerating and accepting the commission drug testing rules has the Mayweather decided that now is the time to deal with steroid and ped‘s usage in boxing?

    Here is the answer.

    The threat is real.

    1. The quest for an Advantage

As the effects of Steroids & PED's continued to be debated, One outcome that the history of PED's and Steroids in sports today has given us is that as long as the REWARD out weigh the RISK in terms of taking and using Steroids & PED's versus the punishment.

They are going to be people who take them to get the advantage.
Having the advantage in professional sports is close to a unmeasurable variable that can only be weigh by it's risk/reward benefit.

*This is why you see, athletes working out and preparing in the OFF-season when they should be resting and recovering from the regular and post season. TO GET A ADVANTAGE

*This is why you see, athletes battles the elements of high altitudes, cold winds, hot temperatures, and etc. TO GET A ADVANTAGE

*This is why you see, athletes separate themselves from their spouses and children during intense training because for them they need all the focus they can get in order TO GET A ADVANTAGE

TO GET A ADVANTAGE is how drugs like steroids and PED's, creeps into the equation. Although the users out there whose intent maybe harmless, the ramifications
however of their actions in some cases are criminal.

    2. Ordinary athletes to Extraordinary athletes

In theory, the people who are seeing the most rewards from using ped's & steroids. Are already extraordinary athletes when comparing them to the entire population. Less than a percent of a percent of a percent of people in the world are actually talented enough to participate in professional sports.

Meaning they are extremely gifted already, as a result if someone where to add power, speed, or endurance to an already extremely gifted athlete.
What you now have is not just an improved athlete, but in some cases iS A deadly weapon.

Imagine adding power, speed, and endurance to a athlete like a young Mike Tyson, Barry Bonds, Adrian Peterson, Lebron James, Marion Jones, etc, etc.

The the ramifications of what these kind of athletes could do to their opponents in the arena of competition should be unthinkable. However, due to the high usage of these drugs in this era we now understand. That PED's and steroids in majority of these cases work. Not only do they work, the turn ordinary athletes to extraordinary athletes. Furthermore, they turn once formidable competition into in boxing terms "sparring partners."

What makes this problem so serious is that the drugs that the users are now taking can not be detected with announce testing in majority of the cases.

examples: Mark McGuire, Marion Jones, Shane Mosley, Jose Canseco.
All known drugs users, however none of them ever tested positive for a drug test.

This is why there does not need to be no proven link between a positive test with steroids and PED's before we can have legitimate concerns about who could be possibly using these drugs. Such as the argument for Manny Pacquiao.

We as sports fans need to recognize that sports would improved and become is a lot safer place if athletes with the talent of Manny Pacquiao, and Floyd Mayweather are denied such advantages that PED's and steroids can offer through the actual threat of being caught through complete random drug testing. Then the REWARD would not be worth the RISK of being caught .

    3. Anytime there is change people will always ask why now?
And usually those are the people who like thing just the way they are.

The question still remains, Why Manny Pacquiao?

Why ask for this new drug testing for this fight and not previous fights?

    Simple.

Effective change in drug testing is impossible without effective precedence followed by even MORE effective momentum.
Put simply, the world of boxing would know that a new era has began when it come to better drug testing because the 2 biggest stars in the sport had made it a serious part of the fight.

As would be the case with Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.

    Do some research.
Anytime there is change people will always ask why now?
And usually those are the people who like thing just the way they are.

So instead of asking why now?, how about asking why not now?

Great job, Horus. If only these Pacfarts could agree that our sport needs better testing.

The sport needs better testing no doubt.

But, I just have a question for point #2. When was Pac ever ordinary before the age of 25?

              Floyd Mayweather jr:
"People forget i also came up from 106lbs at the same age in the amateurs. while he was gettin knocked out i was winning national titles"

"I felt Marquez beat Pacquiao twice and the better fighter by far"

So apparently it's not so extraordinary 4 floyd to come up from 106 and knock hatton out cold at 147.

He felt no threat and needed no assurances against a fighter who in his own words beat pacquiao twice and was the better fighter. why be scared or even doubt yourself in the least bit of a fighter far inferior to 1 you completely dominated
