although his performance was great, his buzzsaw strategy and quick combos are always great to watch...he totally nullified any offense that Clottey had planned going into the fight. Clottey wasnt the best fighter ever(never was, and I never understood why certain people thought that much of him), but he was good, and it was Pacquiao and his strategy that severely limited his offense...its not like he 'didnt come to fight' or 'had an off night'.
anyways, I digress. The thing I noticed was Pacquiao is a sucker for the left uppercut. Maybe you think Im nitpicking on a great performance, but imo Pacquiao is very open for it. any time Clottey got close to him, he could land that left uppercut flush. few and far inbetween, granted, but he could make Pacquiaos head snap back with it even when Pacquiao had his guard up. Pacquiao's right eye is actually quite marked up from the recent interviews Ive seen him in, and I have no doubt a lot of that damage was caused by those left uppercuts.
no ones perfect of course, but if Pacquiao runs into someone who can exploit that kind of close range left uppercut.
anyways, enjoyed the fight last night. some people say it was monotonous, but honestly...I could be entertaining just watching Pacquiao hit a heavybag. hes jsut an offensive machine, and thats somethign to behold.
