Clottey wasn't drained at all. He was afraid. But let's not forget, Manny was a dominating favorite to win. Let's not suck him off too hard for doing exactly what he was supposed to do.
Manny handled his business, props to him.Comment

I just think Pacquiao's punches were hurting Clottey and this caused Clottey to go into damage limitation mode. Clottey wasn't weight drained any worse than he would've been in any of his previous fights but it's gotta help Pacquiao being the naturally smaller guy and being able to eat properly right the way up to the fight. I mean eating the way Pacquiao does is the way a top boxer should eat leading up to a fight. I'd love to be able to see what Pacquiao ate in the last 3 days before the weigh in compared to what Clottey ate.Comment

surprisingly, this fight turned out pretty much exactly how I thoguht it would....Clottey stayed in his shell, and Pacquiao obliged him and threw millions of combos, some punches getting through the guard and some solid body shots.
not to mention Clottey's entire fighting will was sapped from Pacquiao's effective body work.
people dont often recognise the significance of body punching, BUT YOU NEED TO SCORE POINTS FOR IT. body punching does a lot of damage, even though its not quite as flashy as head shots.
also, if you just put a generic guard up with little variation, your strength can be sapped quickly if a guy effective works against it. Blocked shots in some cases actually do a fair amount of damage. I dont know how many of you have tried to box before, but if you just sit there with a tight guard and let another guy bombard you with punches, you can get pretty exhausted, and your arms bumping against your head actualy can jar you a little after a while.
What Clottey planned on was Pacquiao tiring out...what he failed to realise is that you cant just tire someone out if youre not breaking them down yourself. Pacquiao would just unload, back off, and reload, and repeat. that doesnt really tire you out. if Clottey would have landed some significant(consistant) offense during Pacquiao's dry spells, he might have gotten somewhere.
but he didnt. and therefor, Pacquiao was able to get off over 100 punches a round, and just tee off on his guard and body. his offense was more or less nonexistant from that kind of stamina-destroying attackComment
