I find he's much wiser, more tactful and a much better interviewer than Max Kellerman.

Max always comes across as an emotional fanboy who's in over his head.
I like Max most of the time. But Larry is the Don of commentating. miss that old guy!

Kellerman reduces the quality and hence the value of the PPVs.

I agree with this. Max is shocking. I hate the sound of his voice.

Larry is the man. I actually miss having Roy Jones as well. He knew his ****.

With the insight that Lennox Lewis offers on BAD it's amazing to think he's even been inside a boxing ring let alone Heavyweight Champ of the world, the guy sounds like a stoner.

I find it hard to believe Larry wasn't interested in calling the fight on the weekend.

I highly dount that, Merchant LOVES Pac and i can't imagine he wouldn't want to be there ringside. I don't know HBO's reason but Merchant has earned the rigth to be there for the megafights. HBO are douches.

That being said, Merchant is fun, but no more credible a boxing announcer than Kellerman. Neither of them have 'boxing credibility', and Emmanuel Steward was actually trying to say Clottey was winning the fight for a few rounds.

Gus Johnson/Al Bernstein/Steve Farhood would be a superior 3 man team
I really dislike Johnson, he's as bad if not worse than Kellerman.

Jones is a good announcer, good insight.

Lennox is suprisingly uninsightful and not a great talker. His "it only takes on punch to divert history" that he uses every single fight, sometimes multiple times in one night, bugs me.

Tarver is a good announcer but it's like he is trying extra hard to ar-ti-cu-late certian words really hard, i like him though.

Kellerman does the same thing with his words but much more often and i want punch him in the face whenever i see his googly eyes.

Larry is the man, always has great stories, deep **** to say when giving his thoughts, and every fight has a great one liner that has me rolling.

Merchant's current deal with HBO calls for him to alternate PPV's with Kellerman. He'll be doing Mosley-Mayweather.

You have to remember that Merchant was meant to be dropped by HBO and replaced by Kellerman. Public outcry caused HBO to back down and bring Larry back.

Kellerman gives better analysis than Merchant. But who doesn't love Merchant's comments? He is a legend.

Merchant is a delusional alcoholic. Kellerman is a lot more insightful and actually commentates rather than opinionates and lets his emotions get the best of him.
