It's interesting the old commentator with the gray hair compared his boxing style directly to that of Vitali Klitschko.
I understand now why ODH wanted no Winky.

I wont trash Sturm, I think he has tremendous skills and I think he is letting it go to waste fighting overseas. He needs to get an american promoter or demand fights in the U.S., at this point Sturm is wasted potential.Comment

Like I said, "It isn't necessarily a bad thing." Do you understand that? Because of his style, Winky's never had to stray too far from it to win fights. As you know, styles make fights. Marquez would LOVE to fight Pacquiao. It suits him fine. Pacquiao would love to fight Barrera. MAB's style suits him well.Originally posted by spinksjinxOhh I know what you are talking about and it isnt bad because it is effective. It isnt like saying Gatti or Pacquiao is one dimensional, because there styles are bad but Winkys is good.
For Winky, because he's so impeccable with this classic defensive style, many different fighters fail to beat him. He has the fundementals of boxing perfected. Fighters who do not have those fundementals in the long run will lose more fights. RJJ and Mosely are two good examples of fighters who rely on speed and less on fundementals. They rarely jab. They don't always keep their hands up. As they got older, they got slower. Without the fundementals, they became vulnerable and look what happened.Comment
