    *****'s Revisionist History of Pacquiao

    The Truth About Manny Pacquiao
A Unique Take on Sports and Entertainment

Manny Pacquiao legacy is secure. He has done some amazing things. He was won titles in seven different weight classes. Regardless if you think he has done things the right or wrong way there isn’t any proof he has ever did anything wrong, so he does deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Like most legends though, sometimes as the years go by the fantasy becomes greater than the reality. That is why I hear to clear some things up. I am about to tell you the truth about Manny Pacquiao’s rise to top of the Pound for Pound throne.
you know right away they are gonna hate on pac because the article is from blacksportsonline.com. I guess the blacks on that website can't believe that an asian man can be this good at boxing and the pound for pound champ, so they have to downplay pac's accomplishments

    Oscar De La Hoya:

I want everyone to go back and watch Oscar De La Hoya vs. Floyd Mayweather. He was trained by Freddie Roach, he came into the ring around 160 pounds and had the perfect gameplan.

He executed that gameplan for about four rounds and then was dominated for the rest of the fight regardless of what anyone tells you.

De La Hoya was in declined then, but was in optimal shape with a great plan and lost.

what utter bull****. floyd didn't dominate dlh from round 5-12. This guy has no idea what a dominant performance looks like. a dominant performance looks like this

    or like this

in no way shape or form was floyd dominanting dlh. floyd was edging dlh, but it wasn't dominant

When he step in the ring with Manny Pacquiao about a year later, he was getting beat up by sparring partners, weighed 145 at the weigh in (two pounds less than Pacquiao) and had an awful gameplan.

This guy is a ****in liar and not to be trusted. DLH's official weight was 145 lbs and pac's official weight was 142 lbs. On fight night, DLH's unofficial weight was 147 and Pac's unofficial weight was 148.5 lbs. so what this bastard is confused like most *****s.

“Boxing Experts” all had De La Hoya winning, I on the other hand predicted a Pacquiao knock out and that is exactly what happened.

That started the Pacquiao legend, but at that point if he didn’t beat De La Hoya I would have been shocked. How he beat him down was impressive. At that time though De La Hoya was a shot fighter who thought he could get easy win and easy payday against a smaller fighter and got his face beat in for his ignorance.
This is complete and utter bull****. DLH has always had trouble with speed and southpaws. I don't doubt that DLH wasn't his best on fight night, but to attribute pac's dominant performace to DLH being shot is dishonest and disingenuous. as a matter of fact, its a down right lie.

    Ricky Hatton:

    Freddie Roach on Ricky Hatton:

“No offense to Ricky, but I never thought he was any good.”

Ricky Hatton was like a very good 2nd string running back. He was great in certain situations, but ask to carry the load he showed why he was always second string.

With that being said he only had one loss and that was also to Floyd Mayweather who needed ten rounds to get rid of him.
If ricky hatton was such a garbage fighter, then why'd it take floyd 10 rounds and joe cortez to beat hatton??? obviously hatton must not be all that bad after

Pacquiao didn’t wait that long. It was a destruction. It is one thing to win, it is a totally different thing to win and take a fighter’s soul. It was very Mike Tyson like.

The KO punch that ended Hatto’s night is one of the greatest punches in the history of boxing.

Once again it increases the legend even though in reality Hatton wasn’t a top tier fighter and at the time Pacquiao was at his peak.
What utter and complete sack of lies!!! Hatton after losing to pbf, dominated malignaggi and stopped him, something that even cotto didn't do (the stoppage not the domination).

Remember, this is hatton at his best weight division 140 lbs... we all seen hatton in trouble against collazo at 147 lbs... The more convincing argument is that floyd fought a blown up jr WW in a division that said jr WW had no business fighting in.

    Miguel Cotto:

    “The Tarver Effect”

One thing is guaranteed in boxing at some point in your career you are going to get knocked down or be in war. At that point two things will happen.

1- You get up and get better.

2- You turn into Roy Jones Jr.

When Antonio Tarver connected with the “eyes closed” left hook to Roy Jones Jr. jaw Jones career was over before he hit the canvas.

Some fighters after a brutal knockout or brutal fight will never been the same.
you can see that this guy used to be a rjj fan and then turned into a pbf fan, what we call a bandwagoner.

He tries to argue that Tarver's KO punch of RJJ was a lucky punch. I'm not convinced it was.

This brings us to Miguel Cotto.

When Stone Hands Margarito put the beat down on him it was over for Cotto as a top tier fighter. Yes he is still fighting, but he was never going to be the same. You saw it against Joshua Clottey (more on him later) and Pacquiao just exposed what a lot of us already knew.
This is also a garbage position. cotto didn't all of a sudden fall off because of the margarito fight. that's bull****. cotto is a top tier fighter, and will be in the future. The difference before and after the Margo fight is that cotto's aura of invincibility was exposed. cotto always faded late. cotto could get in trouble if faced with a capable opponent. the difference was that from mosley on, cotto step up the competition and was facing the best at WW... something floyd failed to do as floyd ducked all the dangerous WWs and retired, only to resurface when they all had finished beating each other's brains out. This was floyd's plan all along, let them fight each other and pick up what ever is left over.

Cotto started off the fight fine against Pacquiao but as soon Pacquiao dropped him, the fight was over and he was running for his life for the last six rounds.

I was more impressed with Pacquiao in this fight than the previous two. Cotto was a legit welterweight (even though it was a catch weight) and Cotto hit Pacquiao with some flush shots and he shook them off and had a much bigger man running from him.
this just goes to show you that cotto wasn't shot or on the decline. the thing that changed was our perception of cotto. also cotto and his uncle had a falling out and cotto was effectively training himself for a while now as things had become contentious between the two for a while. Santiago was just the dude that held the pads for cotto.

Three impressive wins by Pacquiao without a doubt, but there were circumstances that put him in the best possible position to succeed (old fighter, not that good of a fighter and mentally scarred fighter).
what utter bull**** revisionist history. If it was 2000 and you said pac could / would make oscar quit on his stool, KTFO Hatton, and tKO Cotto, you'd be laughed at. What pac has accomplished is incredible and when looking back at it, you must look at those accomplishments not only in hindsight from today, but also from the past looking forward to now. then you will have a balanced view and not bull**** so much

What does this all mean for Joshua Clottey?

It means if he looks at this logically he has to know he has the better shot than any of the previous fighters....................
It means that Clottey is a dangerous opponent and not to be dismissed like *****s dismiss him and not to be overlooked and underestimate like other people overlook and underestimate him.

I'm black and I love Manny. There is a lot of truth though about a lot of blacks hating on Manny in an attempt to hype Floyd up....(I have to listen to a lot of my relatives who are 10x worse than any Floyd fan on here).

At the same time, there is a larger number of blacks that like Manny and there are more fans than there are haters.
