Storm? This fight is likely going to be a drizzle.

it took me a while but i'm rounding into full homer mode....after the weigh in, the 'WAR MANNY' texts started to flow and after this laker game, we're all meeting up to talk ****

Maybe that will happen to me tomorrow.
I'm an F1 fan and today was the start of the season with the 1st practice day. Tomorrow is qualifying and Sunday is the race. I think I'm more excited about that than Manny against Clottey.
I think it has also something to do with me overlooking Clottey abit. I'm thinking Manny should overwhelm him, but......Comment

My whole job was talking about it and I'm seeing it at party tomorrow night. I dunno where your from, but I guess if your in the right area, you'll get the right talk now that it's almost here. I can't wait! Gonna be a war. Pacquiao=ENTERTAINMENT.Comment

It's just after the Cotto beat down, the only one in peoples minds that could challenge Pac is Mayweather. Make no mistake though, Clottey is not an easy oppenent, the dude is still undefeated in my eyes. The DQ he got in the Baldomir fight was garbage, Margs probably had loaded gloves on when they fought, and Josh clearly outpointed Cotto. Is the Pac - Clottey fight the type of fight you didn't bother watching only to wake up screaming Sunday morning because the guy on ESPN just called Clottey the new WBO Welterweight champ?
Where the hype at?
I don't hear much about this fight. I'm not buying it and my Pinoy friends will not be holding their usual Pacquiao tailgate parties in their garages and I don't even know if they're buying it, as well.
Is the boxing world overlooking Clottey and assuming that it will just be another day at the office for Manny Pacquiao or are they nervous for Manny and would rather just find out the next morning so that they could spare themselves the gut wrenching moment of watching the ref raise Clottey's hand in a Buster Douglas type, kind-of, upset?
I still remember waking up Sunday afternoon and watching highlights of Douglas' upset of Mike Tyson on TV. Dang! I didn't even know they were fighting that weekend. I thought it was the weekend after.
Something seems very weird with tomorrow's fight. Like the calm before the storm.
I'm very excited about this fight. If you remember, Cotto rocked Pac with a vicious left hook to the head in the fifth round, so that makes me wonder what a faster, more accurate, and with maybe just as much power Clottey could do.
In the end, I see Pac winning a very challenging 12 round battle. Where's the hype at? Manny's a once in a lifetime fighter, how can you not be hyped up to watch him, especially against a world class fighter?Comment

I think you nailed it on the head. I was so hyped on the Pac vs May fight, I expended all my energy and excitement on it. Now I'm treating the Clottey fight like a tune-up, when in fact, he has a real chance to upset Manny and mess-up a May/Manny showdown.
But you have to admit, this doesn't have the usual excitement for a Manny fight, which is too bad.Last edited by koboy; 03-13-2010, 12:01 AM.Comment
