i think floyds accurate sharp shots at 140 wud have stopped miguel in the mid-late rounds, i think mayweather beats cotto making him look ordinary because imo he is and always was ordinary and cud have lost many fights that he won, such as clottey, mosley, corley, judah... all of these fights were either close or he was rele hurt at one point

Floyd would have beat Cotto at any point in his career. The way Cotto fights is what would have been his undoing. Cotto has slow feet and he has no defense. Both would get exploited by Floyd. Floyd is the better overall boxer and he's smarter in the ring. He would have made Cotto fight his fight just like he has made ever other opponent do. This wouldn't have been a good fight for Cotto thats why Bob Arum said Cotto wasn't ready to fight Floyd at 140. If he wasn't ready at 140 he wouldn't have been ready at 147 because his style of fighting didn't change when he moved up just his weight.

What frustrated me most about Mayweather was that I always thought that he would handled Cotto quite easily and before he retired I felt that was the 2nd biggest fight he could have had beside a Delahoya rematch which nobody wanted to see. Cotto was never a defensive fighter and was susceptible to uppercuts which I saw way before Margarito capitalized on it. Let's all remember despite the fact if Margarito's gloves were loaded or not he quite possibly is the slowest welterweight yet had little trouble hitting Cotto repeatedly with uppercuts. I was shocked at how long it took fighters to realize that. With Floyd's boxing IQ he definitely would have capitalized on this and outboxed possibly stop Cotto late.

Sure Floyd could have won but I just see Cotto breaking him down and winning the decision.
The same jab that he forgot to keep using against Manny?
              Cotto's jab aint consistent enough.

I see Mayweather stopping Cotto. It would have been a great watch though.

Cotto was scared to use his jab. When he leads in with his left, all you have to do is shoot a right hook over it because he's flat footed and doesn't retreat his hands fast enough. This is how Corley almost knocked him out in the 3rd round.

Mayweather would have had a party landing straight rights from pullcounters over that jab. Cotto would have been done by the 9th.

The 140lb version of Cotto gets his ass beat... The 147 version gets hiss ass beats... And I havnt even seen the 154 version of Cotto but he'd get hiss ass beat as well... Floyd has and always been to skilled for Cotto, so much so he'd make him look inferior
