That's probably too much information for you to comprehend in an entire day, so I'll stop there.
That's not completely true Dave. You are right Zab's not ranked at 140 and rightfully so he hasn't fought at 140 in damn near 7 years. But the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF have been known in the past to have a few pissing contests in regards to letting fighters unify rather than facing that particular sanctioning body's mandatory Clottey is a prime example of when these pissing contests take place. He got the IBF off of Zab(vacant) but couldn't take it with him to the Cotto fight.

Clottey blamed that on Cotto not filing the paperwork.

Yes, there's almost always a reason to do with the "sufficient notice" clause.

        • I saw Abregu fight on the Valero-Demarco undercard. He was up against Gutierrez and it was an intense and violent war. This certainly ain't no tune-up fight.

So those who says "no one is willing to fight Bradley" are being economical with the truth.
Sorry dude you are mistaken.Devon called out bradley when he was the mandatory for Bradley's wbc belt.Bradley felt there was no money in the fight so he fought cmapbell. Then devon fought Witter after that Bradley fought Petterson.Bradley said that if Devon got past jaun he would fight him.But now they want the fight to build up even more.Devon is willing to fight bradley but who else at 140 is?So bradley has to move up.

              • Dave, you're way off. For one, Judah called out Alexander as soon as Alexander-Urango was signed because he originally wanted to fight Urango as his reintroduction into the JWW division. Alexander accepted his challenge, saying "We'll see if he feels the same way after the Urango fight", so that fight was already in the talks.

Your also wrong about Bradley never showing any interest in fighting Alexander. A month ago him and Judah had an argument about who gets to fight him. I remember Judah saying something like "Get your own meat". And a few days ago, when Bradley was asked if he'd fight Alexander, his exact words were "Let's do it!". Yes Alexander was his mandatory at one point, but so was Campbell and he had to fight one of them and vacate the other title. If he chose Alexander and won then people would say he ducked Campbell, I bet.

He really wants to fight the best. He's called out Ortiz, Maidana, Khan and a few others (all just as dangerous as Alexander, possibly more) and they all declined. Even Roach wasn't interested in Khan fighting him right now. I even remember a time where he was scheduled to fight Jose Luis Castillo but Castillo failed to make 140 by 7lbs (which is why he fights at WW now).

But anyways, I'm glad to see him finally fighting again. Picking such a risky fight says a lot about his heart, and I expect him to make a statement in a lopsided decision or late stoppage.

You may be right about the details, but the fact is that Alexander does want to fight him, and the fact is that the Judah fight isn't signed yet - so if Bradley had tried to make a fight with Alexander immediately after the Urango fight, it's possible that Alexander would have agreed - there's no proof that he wouldn't have.

Also, Campbell wants a rematch, and said he was willing to cancel the Ortiz fight (which wasn't yet signed at that point) in order to get one - so that's two leading Jnr Welterweights who do want to fight Bradley, and my point was simply that those who claim there aren't any are wrong. There are two.

                  • Everybody should give Bradley props for fighting a cat like this. I'm not a fan of non-title fights at a disorganized weight, but at least Bradley isn't dragging people up in weight to fight him like Hopkins always does and Berto was doing. I like Alexander's style better than Bradley's. But Bradley has the best attitude in this sport in my opinion when it comes to fighting the right guys and not taking the easy way out.
