If Pac is so fond of sanctioning rules why ignore them and fight for 147 belt at 145?

    Sure about that?

Sauerland to have Olympic-style drug testing

German promoter Sauerland has extended their TV deal with German network ARD through 2015. As a condition to the extension, Saulerland will need to conduct Olympic style drug testing on its fighters under the supervision of the German National Anti-Doping Authority. In addition, this testing will be performed on opponents of Sauerland fighters. This, in turn, means that the fighters in the Super Six will be subjected to random drug testing, for instance, as both Arthur Abraham and Mikkel Kessler are with Sauerland. Already, the new policy has swept out one Sauerland opponent. Sebastian Sylvester was supposed to face Pablo Navascues a few weeks ago, but Navascues was knocked out of the fight when he flunked a random pre-fight drug test. It's a small step, but it's a positive first step in the right direction.

    • All the people that say cotto agreed yes he did but he agreed to a non title match remember he said the title fight was to be at 147 and pacs team had agreed to that then at the end they wanted it to be a title fightand cotto said no but they had wbo president say that he would strip cotto if he didnt put the title on the line cotto was forced to put the title on the line at that weight

as recent as DLH vs Hopkins right? thats what 7 years ago? before that I think someone said JCC vs Sweet Pea and that was what 1993? not quite the norm is it? I mean if we see one once every 7 years or longer can we say it is pretty out of scope?

If Cotto wanted to weight in at 147lbs he could have and still kept his belt if he won the fight and that's the fact in the matter.
          cmon now

          what is there to refute?

you seem to think that because its been done before that makes it ok and have already told you and the enuchs that it was wrong in 2003 it was wrong in 1993

and to end game this for you

while no catchweight title fights did not start with Manny vs Cotto

          what did was the following

Manny and Cotto agree to fight
          at 145

          THEN

Cotto's title becomes a point of contention AFTER the weight had been agreed upon. When Cotto disagreed the WBO ordered him to defend his belt or be stripped

I would say that is pretty unprecedented where a catchweight fight with no major title on the line was made and signed for then became a title fight because one person wanted it but not the champ because he was forced to be at a catchweight

I mean you were here when the whole discussion went on about what BS this was

right or did I spin things?

so you're trying to tell us that you want to see "fighter of the decade" and pound for pound superstar manny pacquiao fight cotto in a rematch?

              • Still not comprehending are you. If cotto wanted to come in 147lbs he could just like Floyd did with JMM. Tell me this what stops Cotto from coming in at 147lbs the answer is none.

wait titles were on the line for

                    Pavlik Taylor II
                    Malignaggi vs Diaz
                    Marquez vs Mayweather
Gatti vs Ward I II III

                    Ray Leonard vs Donny Lalonde-
technically Lalonde was forced to weigh as a super middeweight so it wasn't a catchweight more than Lalonde being forced to defend his 175lb title as a 168lb fighter.

tommy hearns vs ray leonard -88
are you sure there was an agreed upon catchweight? I dont remember them having a limit under 168

                    Terry Norris vs. Meldrick Taylor-
                    good one that was 1992

Bernard Hopkins vs. Oscar DeLa Hoya
                    2004

Julio Ceasar Chavez VS Pernell Whitaker
                    1993

                    so whats left is

                    Barney Ross vs Jimmy McLarnin
Joe Gans vs. Jersey Joe Walcott
                    Armstrong vs. Jenkins
                    Emile Griffith vs. Dave Charnley
were these indeed true catchweights? if so can you link me to the where it states there was a catchweight AND the world title was on the line?

                    thanks

                    • and when did Mayweather exactly and publicly announced he wanted OST for the Pac fight? And still like I said Mayweather will be first in history in boxing to conduct actual OST in a profesional boxing fight from around March to May 1 2010.

And it would have been earlier if pac agreed on Mayweathers OST.
