    Oh ok. That seems rational.
He didn't have surgery for the thigh so stop it. Furthermore, he refused to vacate the title, kept rescheduling the fights, then pulling out literally weeks before with a new injury. Four times. Held the title hostage, held HBO hostage, held Hasim Rahman hostage. That seems rational.

-Lennox retiring because he didn't want to risk losing to Vitali in a rematch

      - Vitali who after 300+ fights in combat sports (Kickboxing + Boxing) needing surgery on his knees, back, & shoulder.

Oh yeah, Vitali 'denying' Rahman his opportunity is the exact same as what Lennox did. Who is being bias? Dumbass.

That's not even including the fact that when he was healthy he did come back at age 38, after 4 years, no tune up and dominated a belt holder.
Lewis did what a professional should do, he thought long and hard, probably hit the gym a few times, realised that he was no longer up for the sport and retired. He did not owe Vitali a thing. Klitschko got an opportunity against a faded, overweight champion who took the contest at very short notice, his failure to win reflects badly on him.

Sure, Vitali has made his way back but the belt holder he dominated was a certain Sam Peter, a Blue Peter presenter would have presented him with a stiffer challenge. Now he is nicking Audley Harrison's opponent. Whoa, stirring stuff from the big man. If it is as exciting as the Johnson fight I may have to bill him for a new set of underwear. Before the 'hater' claims consider that I'm not exactly anti-Klits, I love a bit of Klit action and travelled over to Germany to get some.

And they let him get away with it, They even gave him the Emeritius title just to pet him down, Now according to the record he never fought any mandatory opponent under the WBC but somehow they gave him that status.

They were going to give him the Super Size WBC title but he dropped it on his toe and had to pull out of a fight. WBC = We Be Conniving.

            Spare me.
I'll explain just one more time. the last I hope.

Klitschko originally thought that he had pulled a thigh muscle, because he noticed a pain when jogging. The "popular" feeling was that it was a fake because how could you pull a muscle from jogging. The fight was postponed for 6 weeks, just the time it would take to properly heal a thigh muscle. It didn't respond to treatment, so, noticing this, K asked for a CT scan.

This revealed that he had NOT damaged a thigh muscle, that he had a pinched branch of the sciatic nerve which went to his thigh, that in fact he had a spinal bony growth, a natural occurrance, which caused the pinching. This required remedial surgery, where they open the back, to the spine, and clip off the extra bony growth, which also required time to heal. So the fight was tentatively rescheduled.

In the meantime, King and Rahman had a high old time tearing Klitschkos reputation to shreds, and, cleverly arranged a Rahman-Barrett interim championship fight (if you could call it that) which, because Barrett was a close friend, and also well on the downgrade, broke all records for 12 round stinkaroos. Klitschko protested as his fight with Rahman had been tentatively re scheduled for 6 weeks later, also, if Rahman won, which was more or less a given, he could ask for a much higher share of the purse as Interim Champ. Both King and Rahman assured him that Rahman would be easily able to do this fight.

In the event, they never kept their promise, and no more was heard of THAT fight.
It was finally arranged definitely for Nov. and as we all know K, in sparring, got his legs entangled with his prelim fighter sparring partner, came down heavily, smashed his anterior cruciate ligament, a devastating injury, and the fight was postponed for this, the ONLY actual injury he had suffered. Not without, of course wild rumours that he had been KO d by his sparring partner, and the injury was a fake, he was trying to duck Rahman etc. and all that c****roo.

The WBC gave him a 90 day delay, which was only about a third of the time needed, at best, for recovery, which even then was not assured, so, K, not wanting to hold up the Division any longer, retired.

None of the dates except the first and last, were ever more than suggested, with no tickets, advertising, changed contracts, undercards, etc.etc. And, as you now know, he had only ONE injury, the knee break, which effectively retired him for years. That he could return after so long away, and with no warm-up fight, destroy the once beaten killer Nigerian Nightmare Sam Peter, is testimony to his quality, and the narrow escape that Rahman actually had.................

            Phew, that is tiring..........

            • Whats the point to fighting again? Vitali would beat him easy. Why? Because Lennox is old and been retired since 03'

The boat has sailed and been gone a long time ago.

Ignorance can be altered, but ******ity is forever. A true saying.

I'm back here. Sizzled, tired yet slightly amused by Daizy. Normally he seems sane. Not in this thread however.
