In my opinion the people who say that it's good that this fight isn't PPV don't understand the aftermath of this and don't grasp budgeting good fights. Is Cotto-Foreman a good fight? Either Foreman wins a boring ass decision or it becomes another one of those glorified sparring sessions like with Cotto's previous feather fisted opponents. HBO should've showed Arum the ropes like they did when Cotto decided to fight Jennings and Pavlik decided to fight Rubio. Keep the money to buy better match ups. But then again, I don't cling to Cotto's nut sack and praise him as this blood and guts warrior like some other posters do.

Stop hating. Save the money for better fights? What like Dawson V Pascal which will draw in probably under a million viewers. You seem to forget ratings means everything and even a crappy matchup like Cotto/Foreman will get more ratings than some fights that you would consider great.

If Miguel beats Foreman much of where he goes from here is going to be determined by how he looks. If it's a close decision win, I'd say he drops down to 147 again and tries to take out a weaker link in that division. There's still plenty of guys he could beat down there, if he began looking like the Cotto we knew and loved.

If he was able to stop Foreman he could always go after Spink's portion of the 154 landscape. I'm not saying its the most exciting fight, but Cory is a guy who moved up, too, so technically his size advantage shouldn't hurt Cotto too much; especially when you factor in that he's never hit very hard.

So, that'd be one more fight for Miguel at junior middleweight, I guess you could throw him in with another top 5 154 lb. contender at that point, like Vanes, but I guess I have concerns on how much longer Cotto fights on..

I mean, if he does well against Foreman that's a career revival in terms of boxing esteem and how he's viewed, but Cotto recently lost his undefeated streak in two nasty beatings, his father died, several puerto rican up-and-comers, like Juanma, threaten to bite into his fanbase; all in all, the odds might be stacked against Miguel carrying on for much longer.

I like the guy, I really do, but we'll have to see where his path lies....

Cotto will be fighting past 2010, believe that...Cotto will not go out on a wimper by beating Yuri. He signed for 2 more years for Arum and will fight. Cotto is too proud to go out beaten by Pacman and going out beating just Yuri. Arum will secure him a big money fight. He has several viable fights coming up...

Cotto/Mosley 2 could be on the horizon
Cotto/Clottey 2 could also be viable if the unthinkable happens
Cotto/Margarito 2
Cotto/Mayweather (if Pac isn't secured or if Mayweather *gasps* loses to Shooga)

So believe that Cotto isn't done...he will fight into 2011 in hopes of getting one last moment of glory
