He called out De la Hoya... a month before the fight Oscar wanted to fight the winner on Dec... when he meant winner he wanted to fight Cotto but when that went down the drain he used Plan B which was to fight Pacquiao instead

Well I honestly think Toney thought a Margarito vs Oscar fight would be bigger than a Margarito vs Mayweather fight. Also he could really solidify himself amongst the Mexican fan base by beating Oscar...so to me It would make more sense for Toney to pursue the Oscar fight. At the end of the day nobody thought Floyd was coming outta retirements so to say his name was really pointless.

Yeah I can see args thinking Oscar brings in the cash and the next best option for cash is Floyd.

Margarito was asked after the fight if he wanted Mayweather and he said something like "we asked Mayweather before and we know what the answer will be".

Doesn't matter anyway. Press conference boxing fans get erections from a fighter "calling out" someone. That should be saved for when the contract is signed.

Honestly that fight would have been brutal. I mean if valero was killing DLH at that point....I can only imagine a 160lb plus Margarito who throws non stop would do to poor oscar.

Pac beating a Prime Marg wouldve been a GREAT win I'll give you that one. Oscar has the style to beat Marg and Marg wasnt that good at 154 but at 147 Marg stops him quickly.
