I dont agree with you. Floyd stated when he came back to fight Pac and get the number one spot back,not for the cash(although its always handy). He doesnt get the number one spot back by beating Marquez at welter and a way passed prime Mosley,so I dont think its debatable. As things stand now,Pac is the top guy,and as regards the 'bigger draw' situation,a fight between Floyd and Manny will smash all records,and that isnt because one is a bigger ppv draw than the other. This fight would be the exception rather than the rule in this regard.

They can play out their careers without fighting each other,but I seriously dont think either of them want that. Without Manny,Floyds comeback is pointless. As good as a fight with Mosley is,its no substitute for the fight we all want to see and the fight both fighters need to secure a payday beyond their wildest dreams. Without Mayweather,Manny will not(and I see this as wholly unjust) get the worldwide recognition he deserves.

I am just hoping they can find some middle ground and make it happen.

I have forgotten, my mistake. If i remembered correctly, wasn't it Floyd who backed out the fight first?

Actually it was Manny's promoter(who apparently calls the shots for Manny) who was running around telling everyone that they were finished talking and was looking for another fight while Floyd was still trying to negotiate.
