How the hell can Clottey win this fight??

He is a big guy with decent defense
    Has Average footwork
Underated speed but nowhere near Pac's
    Average punching power
Poor Output late on in a fight

He has pretty much bottled it in his 2 biggest fights when on the verge of winning his output went down by alot and instead of pilling on the pressure vs Cotto in particular he stopped. His other main fight came vs Zab Judah who is even worse when it comes to this kind of stuff and has 2 round stamina.

Everything about Clottey just screams average to me and he just doesn't seem to have that "it" factor, i just can't get that excited about this fight, Pac is just so much better in every way. I can honestly see Pac forcing Clottey to quit on his stool..

To win by decision Clottey would have to win atleast 9-10 rounds clearly imo, its down in Texas and with potential money fights for Pac there is no way otherwise.. he has too totally dominate the fight. An this just wont happen Pac is too fast and too good.

Can he win by KO? Clottey isn't really a power puncher, Cotto was a fairly hard puncher and landed some monsters vs Pac. So basically Clottey is unlikely to KO pac with a 1 shot punch, but can he really force a ko/tko after an hitting pac many times? i just don't see it he is too slow compared to pac and pac's defense is very good when he follows the gameplan.

    So how does Clottey win??

The same stuff Pacquiao uses----that's his only chance.

Great defence, and a good jab. I really think the jab will be a huge factor for Clottey. If he uses it that is.

I know what you mean. I remember stressing right before the Cotto fight because of all the unknowns but Clottey has more than a few tools to make things really ugly for Pac.

This is what a tune up should be

How can he win? Its not gonna look great, but by making the fight messy and physical he would stand his best chance. A lot of locking up and making his strength count inside, the odd foul here and there, and then look to box down the straight with a high output. Thats his best chance as I see it,but that is such a big ask against the greatest fighter in the world.

I have a funny feeling about this fight. I think Clottey is going to be Manny's toughest fight so far at 147.

He has good D, and this will be the strongest fighter Pac has ever faced. Clottey also has a good straight right hand a solid left hook, those 2 punches are money punches against southpaws. plus he goes to the body. And, I think a lot of underestimating Clottey. And, that is what I am worried about it. Clottey is no joke he is a very good fighter and a top 5 WW.

Pac should win this fight, he just overall the better fighter. I have no doubt in my mind that a focused motivated Pac beats Clottey quite easily. But, I do question that focus and motivation for Clottey. There is something in this fight that worries me. I think Clottey is getting overlooked a little bit.

To be fair you should be shot for comparing Zab Judah to Pac but i get you . The thing is Zab ain't the fighter Pac is, and Judah was fairly close till he decided to quit and even if the Clottey/Pac fight is fairly close we know what the choice in winner will be specially in texas.

Im just wondering if its worth forking out 50$ for my boxing friends are all on spring break while im stuck in college so i would be paying it all myself

That makes perfect sense. It's like when the Cotto fight was going down, people were saying easy fight for Pac, Pac by brutal KO, and while it turned out to be true, I think people had doubts in the back of their minds and knew Cotto was a legit dude. With Clottey (after what we saw Pac do to Cotto) it's like we're all expecting an easy win and it's like am I missing something or is this going to be an easy night? I just hope Pac don't feel that way.

Clottey has to walk Pacman down keeping his guard high while throwing punches. Keep Pacman going backwards is the only way to have some success. If Clottey allows Pac to get in a rhythm - with Pac rotating around him, it is over.
