winky is one of the most underrated fighters in the sport. he fought alot of great fighters and beat alot of em. when most fighters get a safe path to a title winky had to get it the hard way, he fought all over the world taking on fighters on their home turf.

he worked his way up, didnt dodge nobody and had to fight guys of all styles in their backyards. and once he did make it big, he shown against the very best what he can do. mosley x2, tito, taylor, quartey, vargas, hopkins. just being competetive against hopkins was impressive fighting at 170, and i think winky did a better job against hopkins than both taylor and calzaghe. he just doesnt have the star power they have, he never did and he still became a great fighter.

hes not even one of my favourite fighters, but no doubt one of the fighters i have the most respect for.

At 154 he was the most avoided fighter. Having a few losses against JC Vasquez and Harry Simon couldn't put him as one of the top fighters in the beggining. He was always competitive even in losing and very hard to look good against on a win.

Even fights at above 160 he was very competitive in fights that could had gone either way. He is a high risk low reward fighter, he doean't bring that much money cause only hardcore fans know about him but to say he is over rated is easy to say now but looking back at the time no top contender didn't want no part of him

Winky has every right to complain, I thought he beat Taylor and Vargas as did many others. When he got beat by P-Will did he complain? no, because he knew he got beat.

When Winky fought Fernando Vargas, Vargas was 17-0 (17 KO's) and Vargas got a gift majority decision as he was the new up and coming superstar.

When Winky fought Jermain Taylor, Taylor had just beat Hopkins and gave Hopkins his first loss in 12 years and he won the rematch, then JT has a fight with Winky and get's a draw because he was being looked at as the next middleweight king. Disgraceful I would be pissed too.
