I get where you coming from it was ****ed up but we know JMM wasnt pulling out. If Pac and Floyd wasnt THEE guys in boxing Cotto and JMM would have told them to "F" off.Last edited by B.U.R.N.E.R; 03-08-2010, 02:53 PM.Comment

You are getting defensive broBut, doesn't up to mean it can be at 147 it doesn't HAVE to be?
I get it that he didn't get the ability to fight at 147. But, he knew that. He didn't have to take the fight... He could of stand firm 147 or no fight. Who else was Pac going to fight? I guess Mosley at a catchweight but Roach wasn't even keen on fighting Shane at 140.
Like I said catchweights at 145 have happen before is not "Mannyweight" is just a ridiculous line. He is not the first one to fight at that catchweight and he won't be the last.
That whole line is just ****** IMO... I understand some posters use it cuz they just haters and try to diminish his accomplishments and victories... But, is really a BS line IMO...
and sorry but Cotto agreeing upon it just lends more credence to Cotto being the warrior willing to fight anyone not Manny.
I mean isn't what this is all about? Isn't this why these threads continue on
because Manny fans think Floyd didn't want to fight because of the silly demands?
but isn't it hypocritical to point at Floyd and say those things when Manny does his own share of asking for things outside of what is governed.
what if Cotto said no? Manny would have been in the same boat as Floyd is right?
so why is it so different for Manny to ask for these things and not Mayweather?
BOTH went above what governing and sanctioning bodies outline yet Mayweather is to blame for everything? cmon
and sorry but a welterweight fight stated by the WBO is up to 147. not 145.

He could have walked away - but think of the PR damage, and the retribution Arum would seek. He was effectively cornered so he just had to grin and bear it.
The criticism Pacquiao has recieved for the catchweight thing is probably just a little bit more evident to you because of the internet and your allegiance to Pacquiao.Comment

Oh I read it wrong. Wghen he moved to WW with Oscar that was a catch weight. If you have a 135 pounder and a 154 Pounder meeting in the middle its a catch weight fight.Comment

actually I think its the cost of olympic testing that is probably the issue for the commissionsThe commission doesn't give a FCK about the fighters, all they want to see is a war, to help boost boxing. Hence why they love fighters like Pacman and won't do a damn thing even if he is dirty. Its up to the fighter to protect himself, not some board of old men wanting to see blood dripping from your face in a 15 round duel to the death old school style. Any fighter would agree with that...Comment

But surely he had to ask Shane and every fighter from now on. It would look ridiculous if he only asked Pac.
IMO If Floyd's wanted to clean up the sport he should have said that way before he agreed to fight Pac.
He accused Pac, demanded a test, then said he was doing it for the good of boxing.
It should have been in reverse.
Not an anti-Floyd rant, just think he went about it the wrong way.Comment

BINGO finally someone understands!Cotto was fine at 145lbs but that's besides the point. I think that particular contract stipulation was brought up to highlight the hypocrisy of a Pacquiao defender slamming Mayweather for "making the rules" or attempting to supercede the commission, when in fact Pacquiao is probably the biggest diva around right now.
whether Cotto was fine or not is moot we agree
in fact I state Cotto is indeed a true warrior
Manny and Floyd not so muchComment

I get where you coming from my dude. Gotta remember though when you dealing with a guy you hate like Floyd does with Arum everything wont be kosher. But surely he had to ask Shane and every fighter from now on. It would look ridiculous if he only asked Pac.
