Only the respect of people who think he's ducked a rematch. But who's really doing who a favor? Vic has outperformed Donaire clearly in the time since losing to him. I like the rematch, but will be just fine without it.

It's not like the first fight was close or controversial anyways. Darchinyan was outclassed and out fought every second of the fight, but after stopping Arce and Mijares, he deserved a second shot at Donaire. But as of right now Donaire should be going after bigger and better things like fighting Montiel, instead of fighting once a year against bums who can't even make it through training camp without getting injured. Having a rematch with Vic will only stall his progress even more. Donaire has already wasted too much time. A lot of it wasn't his fault, but it's time to step it up.

            3) money

Darchinyan and Shaw are the only ones who thinks the first fight was a fluke.

You have a good point how fighting Darchinyan again is better than the **** he's doing now. I just think there are better fighters more deserving like Montiel. Winning belts would be great for Donaire, but it's no secret he has trouble making 115 nowadays. Vic should have given Donaire the rematch sooner, but went up to 118 too soon and lost. So Donaire doesn't owe Vic or Shaw any paydays.

Yeah Donaire has few options, but why fight a guy who isn't even in his league at the moment. That reminds me of Dawson's rematch with Tarver.

no but fighters can have off nights. whos to say vic cant adjust or do better in rematch?
vic has been doing well and still winning belts and has been fighting donaire nothing really. and vic willing to move up so i dont see nothing wrong with fighting at 118. but yeah
just because he got beat in first fight dont mena they cant have a rematch. and vic cant do better. i think vic has earned a rematch. plus donaire isnt going to get more money elsewehere maybe arce or montiel. but vic is the draw win or lose

you telling me you fight somene and you outclass them the first time around knock them out no problem. they go on winning belts still and making money and you got a chance to fight him again you wouldnt take that? id be like let me fight vic in june beat him again unify the division make some money have 2 wins over the raging bull then fight winner at 118.
or go up fight the guy who beat king kong.

i know its not up to donaire or vic but i know vic for sure wants the fight

Yes, money of course. That's what boxing is about afterall.
Not to mention, he could put to rest the doubters who say he won on a fluke because it's apparent that Darchinyan has gone on to do far greater things since their fight.

Hell, I would like to see it for real. The first fight was still competitive until the KO and can u imagine the interest they will have in a 3rd fight if Vic managed to win the rematch? Incredible.
