that sounds good, but Gomez is Top Rank, and Arum wanted Canelo badly before Oscar snatched him.

meh...i dunno why arum would protect gomez. his rein of being arum's sacrificial lamb should just be about over.

I think eventually Arum will try to set up a Gomez vs a comebacking Margarito match. But besides that Arum is not likely to look to help promote Alvarez, Gomez is too big a step up fight right now for him, and there's little motivation for Gomez to take that fight anyway. Matthew Hatton is about right at the moment for Canelo. A clear step-up from the cans he's been fighting, but not much of a risk of getting outclassed or stopped with Hatton's style and lack of punching power.
