agree to disagree. from what I've seen of cotto and his career, he's always been that type of fighter that wins the easy ones and struggles in the tough ones. he finally met 2 guys with the stamina to push cotto past his limits and lost both.

so how is that throwing him under the bus?
The 154 belt for the Foreman is easy to give to Cotto since Pac didn't want that fight and wanted Clottey. He doesn't have another fighter to contend for that title accept Cotto. Arum is trying to make as much money as possible with Cotto.
well, cotto is trying to make as much money as possible with arum. I don't get the throwing him under the bus analogy.
But I don't know about McGirt. I would prefer ****m instead. Emmanuel is a good choice and Emmanuel did say before that he would love to train Cotto, but this was before the Margarito fight.
****m won't take cotto, cause mosley/cotto II is still viable.

steward is a bad choice because steward only is good for tall boxers which cotto is not.
Where is Joe Goossen btw? Someone should call him just to call. Always gives good information in the corner and is always relaxed when telling his fighter what to do.
goosen seems like a strictly west coast trainer. remember casamayor left goosen because goosen didn't want to leave his gym. i doubt cotto will want to train in Cali.

mcgirt would make him a brawler, stronger and tougher with 2 huge balls!!!!
but dont think it would work...he needs of someone that improves his style.****m or paulie's coach would fit him

He's throwing him under the bus in terms of what he's been saying in terms of the Clottey and Pacman fight. He's been talking about how Clottey isn't Cotto. How Clottey is going to make this a tougher fight than Cotto made it to be, etc, etc, etc. If your a promoter you just don't compare your fighter to another even if you are trying to hype that particular fight up.

          huh?

mcgirt doesn't do that. mcgirt stresses defense and boxing.

          ****m won't train cotto.

          who is paulie's coach?

          um.. clottey really isn't cotto

clottey probably will be a tougher fight because clottey doesn't open up and hides behind his defense.

well, arum needs to promote pac/clottey and he needs to explain why clottey has a chance to do better than cotto because naturally people will ask, "clottey lost to cotto, so why make clottey pac?"

Cotto needs any trainer, anyone is better then Santiago the bum scum. You see Cotto hit the pads? wtf? He needs a lot of trainers like B-Hop, Cottos condition seemed fine for pac fight, his chin is shot, if you catch him with a punch in an exchange its game over, unlike in the mosley fight where he ate up ****. ****. Cotto needs help. if he has an amazing preformance he will be BACK. go miguel!!! WAR CLOTTEY!

cotto needs someone that he has to respect profesionally, as far as a person that will come into camp and take control. he likes santiago cuz they are like friends and he can run all over santiago, cotto runs that show.they like buddies bull****ing around in the camp ,yea takes it serious but not serious enough to take on the elite fighters in the game,it mite work against foreman but i would take cuellar over mcgirt,

I don't know, I think it might work. Cotto's problem against Pacquiao was that his defense was shaky. It's like he wants to box but he has a brawler's skillset. If McGirt can shape up his defense, how does that hurt him? He can be a Gatti-style fighter, then. A boxer who brawls if he needs. Now, he doesn't have half of Gatti's heart, but is miles and miles more naturally gifted.
