Awesome! It's good to see Cotto shopping for a new trainer... Hopefully once he irons that situation out he can get back to being the Miguel Cotto of old.

the "cotto of old" is the same cotto we got in the last fight. what cotto needs is a real trainer that can help his defense and has better strategy

mcgirt is the perfect trainer for cotto.

      1) he lives and works in florida
      2) he specializes in defense
      3) he focuses on boxing over brawling

all those things work for cotto. the only problem is the language barrier.

I agree with you there...as I have said in the past...Cotto needs a trainer who can refine the skills that he already has, and add some new tricks to the mix; as well as iron out some of the flaws that he has... "Cotto of old" I guess was a bad choice of words -- as I mean a resurgence in Cotto's career is what's needed -- a quality trainer in all likely hood would do this for him.

I really can't stand Arum, especially how he's throwing Cotto under the bus with all the crap he's talking about. He even looked su****ious in the 24/7 when he was training for Pacquia. It just looked like he didn't care and checked on to see how his bate was looking. Thats what it looked like to me.

i don't really get how arum is throwing cotto under the bus.

he gave cotto a very lucrative fight against pac.

also, arum is giving cotto a belt at 154 with the foreman fight.

seriously, mcgirt is the perfect trainer for cotto

Miguel should go to Wild Card an train with Roach. Cotto never alters his game plan, he fights the same way against anyone he faces. It either works (Judah, Mosley) or it doesnt (Margarito, Clottey). Roach could add dimension to Cotto.

Yes, off course he had to give Cotto a lucrative deal since Cotto was the champion.

The 154 belt for the Foreman is easy to give to Cotto since Pac didn't want that fight and wanted Clottey. He doesn't have another fighter to contend for that title accept Cotto. Arum is trying to make as much money as possible with Cotto.

But I don't know about McGirt. I would prefer ****m instead. Emmanuel is a good choice and Emmanuel did say before that he would love to train Cotto, but this was before the Margarito fight.

Where is Joe Goossen btw? Someone should call him just to call. Always gives good information in the corner and is always relaxed when telling his fighter what to do.
