Well i have looked into this, and from my best knowledge it appears to only be banned in the week prior to the fight and of course during the fight. I have also read that neither urine or blood tests detect this very well.

Has Mayweather, a boxer with brittle hands used Xylocaine during a fight? We don't know... HBO has pretty much said he does... but who knows?

In my opinion using xylociane during a fight would be the equivalent of using ******* during a fight. It's a numbing agent, that allows you to hit harder than you normally would.

In the end, you have to ask yourself this: If Floyd really wants to clean up the sport of boxing... shouldn't he condone the use of Xylocaine altogether?

I wouldn't use that terminology, but you are on the right track on this board!, people risk there lives in the ring, why enhance the risk factor for the other boxer just to win? PED, plaster etc, zero tolerence should be incorporated regarding these matters
