There is a long list of boxers who fought way past their prime and the list pre-dates Foreman by quite a bit.

Maskaev is old and shot. He needs to retire.

One would have thought that getting KOd in 1 by Aguilera would have made him realized it's time to retire, but apparently not...

Oleg is a washed up fighter. It would be best all round if he retired, but it looks like he isn't going to.

Oleg can no longer compete at the elite never no more. I just hope now he stops living in dream world and stops calling out Vitali.

How about Oleg vs UK's Tyson Fury, or Audley Harrison? Am sure both fights would make for interesting affairs.

Not at all. Foreman was still great, and he ended his career with a whooping of a strong and young Briggs. Foreman never looked shot, and he was never dominated or ko'ed during his second career ( while he was old).

We can only blame those shot and old fighters will to fight on on their financial obligations, no doubt. So those today old fighters like Maskaev can't even compare themselves to Foreman. Foreman didn't even needed the money at some point in his comeback. Maskaev is more shot than a dead Jesse James, and probably broke.

As long as there is boxing, there is going to be the temptation for ageing boxers to give it one more shot, for the money, for the glory, for whatever reason.

I don't like it either, but if he can get fights and get people to pay to come and watch him, more power to him I suppose. We don't have to watch.
