Very bad move by Toney and I hope this is untrue because it will put a stain on his great reputation. He should try to have a couple more boxing fights, maybe even try to get a minor title and then give it all up. He's done as an athlete.
I just talked to Sherri(Toney's mother) and she's worried about him getting his ass kicked. they aren't close any more but she is trying to reach out to him and see where his head is at.

that said he is going to get his ass kicked unless he fights a D-level guy with no ground game. this'll be like when Hector Camacho beat down SRL in '96. pathetic

This is a sad way for Toney to be going out, but since he hasn't exactly been a classy guy, it's hard to feel too sorry for him.

Oh well. He's my favourite and always will be, best of luck to him.

What annoys me is they might try and use Toney to try and prove MMA superiority if he gets submitted in a fight, like wtf, the guy is 42, fat, shot, and can't cut it in boxing anymore.

He's using Toney/Couture to kill the Walker nuthuggers and the notion that "MMA is easy and anyone can do it". It's not.

He's sick and tired that ESPN is all over Walkers nuts and he's using this fight to make the major sports media look like fools.

The whole boxing/mma thing is a distant third of why he's doing it.

                Cool.

Nothing new to be learned here. We all know boxers have balls of steel,

but when are we going to ever see an MMA guy step into a boxing ring?

Probably a WWE fighter. Oh wait, their heavyweight champion IS an ex WWE fighter.

I don't know, but it might happen eventually. I always wanted to see Fedor in the boxing ring. There has to be some MMA guys with boxing experience, but there hasn't yet been an athlete to win major belts in both MMA & boxing. The first man to do that will be legendary.
