at present, pacquiao at #1 holds the key. With Pacquiao at #1, to be the champ, you have to beat #1. So for Mayweather and Mosley to fight each other, its just to determine who is #2. That may all change depending on the outcome of pacquiao-clottey.

No you don't P4P isn't a belt. It's an opinion of who is the best fighters in the world based on who they have fought and how they performed recently. Mayweather has been on the P4P list for ten years and is undefeated if Mosley beats him he deserves the number 1 spot.

i know its not a belt. Its all mythical. Even the ring belt for all its worth, is still kinda mythical. the winner of the mayweather-mosley fight will not take over the #1 slot as is where is. But it can, if pacquiao-clottey doesnt go the way of pacquiao via decisive win.

          4. If Pac retires and he beat floyd
That would make Mayweather number 1.

            Thats how i feel...

Even if Mayweather beats Mosley, why would he get P4P 1 spot?

When youve got someone who has came from a lower weight (in more recent times) and beaten everyone that hes come up against convincingly (including hatton and cotto...and maybe even soon clottey)

I just dont see pac losing that spot

And that's how it always is. Whoever is p4p no. 1 stays there until they either lose or leave.

The #1 spot is a battle amongst three fighters. Floyd, Manny, and Shane. If either of these fighters beats another then they are p4p #1.

I think if Mosely beats up Mayweather, he should get the numb 1 slot, as should Mayweather get if he wins. Pac will need to look great in his fight with Clottey to keep it. Mosely is consder the WW Champ since beating Margito last year and now that all three of the are in the same wieght class, who ever beats him or he keep his status, kinda give him a edge over the next guy.

IMO he should be, but don't know if the Ring will see it that way. P4P#1 is of course not a belt, and is nothing more than an opinion.

IMO it's Mayweather - retire or not for me he's still the best in the sport for his size, hypothetically if all other guys were same size as Floyd he'd beat them all.

Pac had a case, especially with jumping so many weight classes so easily but as he seems to be a genuine welterweight I'd just judge him same as PBF. A fight between the 2 should really happen to clear up any confusion though. All 3 guys fight in same weight class so in terms of anything tangible it should be the top welterweight is #1p4p and until Pac take the test the only path to that spot is thru Sugar Shane .

So yeah, for me a win for Shane over Floyd is miles better than anything Pac has done.

even if PBF beats Shane he will still be No. 2, how can no. 3 beating no.2 be no.1??

PBF or Mosley has to face PAC to take that No. 1 away from him!

unless PAC is to loose versus clottey then PBF-Mosley will be fighting for No.1...
