who gives a ****, it's a part of their strategy. Most of the time running is mistaken for many things. Some boxers move real quick to a certain part of the ring where they know they will be most effective. Some use it to bait aggressive fighters into counter punches. I mean there are a ton of reasons (alot are very smart ones at that) why boxers do it and never is it outta fear like most people try to imply. Boxing is about putting yourself in positions were you would be most effective and that is why these boxers do what they do (what you guys call running).Comment

fourth sentence...pretty much sums it up.
running is not tactical manuevering and no way is it ring generalship.
i'll give you pivoting, waist movement, rotation of body, foot work(pretty much pivoting), and blockin. those are attributes of "tactical manuevering" and "ring generalship".
