De La Hoya and Barrera Sharing September 17 PPV Date!

No way is De La Hoya gonna return to a weight division he`s probably not 100% sure he can perform well in ( he is older, weight loss can kill you, ask Roy Jones ) and then sign to fight Judah who`s on a roll, perhaps quicker than Oscar, can punch AND is a southpaw. Not a chance!Originally posted by The TruthI hope its De La Hoya vs. Judah...
Oscar will fight some one like Kermit Cintron or Ben Tackie.
Barrera Vs Marquez would make sense, more likely Robbie Peden!Comment

Barrera could fight Cottos bother (I doubt it), Jose Miguel Cotto. Hes ranked 22 in the world,
ranked #9 on *********, other than that maybe Jorge Barrios.

DLH might fight Margarito, for a Mexican fight.Comment

that would be incredible. Barrera vs Corrales and Oscar vs Judah.
I dont see Oscar having any problems against Judah if Judah fights the same way he fought Spinks. Zab would need to throw a jab and run all over the place to last with Oscar, cause Oscar hits like a truck at that division and Zab doesnt have the power to hurt Oscar with a punch.
The only problem i can see is if Oscar crashes from the weight loss like Roy Jones did. Oscar did say he was at 154 the last week of training against B-Hop if thats true then he will be alright. But if he does have to crash in weight, he would have to rely in his heart and left hook cause his lagacy will be counting on itComment

Oscar is in need of a tune-up fight and I think that (assuming he is still going to fight at welterweight, and I have heard otherwise) Cory Spinks would be a pretty good opponent. I mean, he is coming off a loss, has been inactive for a while, does not have too much power, but is a tough boxer, and is reasonably well known-- that could do alot for De La Hoya. As for who Barrera is going to fight, I can't believe that he has anybody on his mind right now except Pacquiao, or maybe JMM coming up from featherweight. I would be suprised if he hopped back in against Morales and unless he wants the likes of Chavez or Hernandez then I don't see who is left for him at Jr. Lightweight.Comment

Just wanted to bump the original thread back up.
btw, why the hell is Oscar suddenly coming in at 150 now? What happened to 147? And what does that mean for a fight against Judah?
Maybe there's been some behind the scenes talk between the two camps. Just pure specualtion here. But Zab wants to fight Oscar bad and maybe Oscar insisted they had to do it at 150. Guess you get to call the shots when you're a boxing superstar for little to know reason (well, at least in relation to what he's done in the last couple of years).Comment

The only difference between Oscar's weight loss and Roy's is that Roy was ripped even at 200, Oscar hasn't really been ripped since he left 147, maybe even before that. Losing fat drains you enough, but deteriorating muscle mass in order to lose weight, now that's murder...Originally posted by ottoevansthat would be incredible.
