If Cloud went through with the fight and made a statement over Johnson, he would have many promotional offers and thus could leave Don king anyway, but now he's stuck with the old man who is too old to make a fight happen once a year. Next Cloud fight may happen 2011-12...Comment

I was favoring Cloud to win the fight too by a slight margin. I was rooting for Glen Johnson though because even though I was high on Cloud's abilities, I don't like the guy's attitude and inactivity.Comment

I disagree about calling off the fight if what he says is true. If his promoter negotiated and agreed to this fight without consulting him and announced it without getting his name on a contract, they are the bad guys, not him. I wouldn't doubt if what he says is true, but we have only heard one side of the story. That crap about HBO not dealing with managers is total bull****. I would bet that Al Haymon has his own office in the HBO Sports headquarters.Comment

True, but most of the time they surround themselves with smart advisors who look out for their interests. This is especially true by the time they win a championship. This guy may be the exception to the rule.Comment

Spinks and Devon Alexander so far haven't gone too bad with King promoting them (I remember reading about long layoffs for Alexander though)
and isn't Cunningham a Don King promoter fighter?
still though in this day and age I find it very shocking an undefeated fighter like Cloud would sign with King ... given the reputation he (King) has.Comment

Me too given the hype he has built already even though he hasn't done that much yet, has a belt, and after Pascal/Dawson will be the only viable option for the winner left if B-hop isn't going to step up to the winner.....it seems like he really didn't need promotion at all should the Johnson fight have gone his way.Spinks and Devon Alexander so far haven't gone too bad with King promoting them (I remember reading about long layoffs for Alexander though)

This sucks. Johnson was going to test Tavoris Cloud and let us know one way or the other how good he really is.Comment
