Valuev would not get more money if he was a mandatory, in fact he would probably get less. Vitali reportedly made 22 million euros last year, but most of that is endorsement and the cut from TV commercials. Let's say for argument's sake, since we don't know the exact numbers (unless any of you do, then feel free to inform us) that half the money is from endorsements and TV money and the other half is from the purses. That would mean 11 million total, so a little less of 3,7 million per fight. A 30% of 3,7 million would mean Valuev would make 1,11 million euros, which is quite a bit less than the 2,5 million $ Vitali is offering. Of course I could be wrong since I'm just speculating with the numbers, but I doubt Valuev would make that much money as he's claiming.

Those figures can't be right, because Vitali said no to 60/40. Given he's willing to offer $2.5 million, but he's not willing to offer 60/40, the total purse must be well in excess of $6.25 million.

Also, Valuev-Vitali isn't an average fight in terms of purse - it would be huge in Germany, even bigger than Wlad-Haye.

Valuev wanted 60/40 of the total money, not 60/40 of the purse, which is why Vitali told them to go **** themselves. Look up the article here in boxingscene, King said "we want no guaranteed purse but we want 60/40 of the TV money and such" (not the exact words but somehting like that).
