So When is Chad Dawson and Tavoris Cloud gonna fight?

Seriously, the people saying Dawson is ducking Cloud have no ****ing idea what they're talking about.

It's the same with any other division, as long as there are split titles and sanctioning bodies pretending to care about the sport, the best fights will not be made.

If Dawson thought he was confident of beating the guy he'd be willing to fight him in April when HBO offered that date to him even after Hopkins refused to fight Dawson. Which in turn means that he only wants one payday instead of two. Are you trying to tell me he's not capable of fighting Tavoris Cloud in April and then Jean Pascal in the fall?

The fight has not happened because Cloud is totally unknown outside of hardcore fans. why? Inactivity, for a while he was fighting once a year and wonders why HBO wouldn't put up the $$$ for the Dawson/Cloud fight.

The best thing for this fight would be if Cloud look great and could somehow stop the road warrior.

If he squeaks by with a close or controversial decision, I could understand him not getting the shot for awhile because how viable would he look if he can't get past a guy in decisive fashion who Chad dominated last time out?

Then ppl will say Dawson is ducking him if that happens and he waits on Pascal to be healed and ready to fight.

And to the above poster, it doesn't matter if cloud has a fan base or not (not like dawson has any fans either) because if they both win, Dawson will be #1 and Cloud #2. The fight will happen because it will crown a champion at 175.

It did when Johnson, Tarver, Pascal, and maybe Hopkins were options for him over Cloud.

Cloud is virtually unknown. Fighting Pascal in Canada is as big of a money fight outside of Hopkins as Dawson is going to get.

I'm also curious to see proof of HBO approving Cloud as an opponent for April....even though Pascal has been the plan all along.

Cloud needs to work his ass up. And he's beginning to do that, which I give him props for. But for real, he hasn't done ****, while Dawson is slowly cleaning out the division.

You give him **** for absolutely nothing. He beat Adamek. Beat Johnson, albeit narrowly. Beat Tarver who was a top dog in the division. Then TARVER exercised his rematch clause on Dawson...yet ******s give him **** for fighting Tarver twice in a row, clamoring instead for him to give Johnson his rematch. He gives Johnson his rematch and nearly shuts him out, and now people give him **** for fighting two 40+ year old guys 4 fights in a row. Now he's trying to fight the next best fighter in the division in Pascal, who has done wayy more to deserve the fight than Cloud and people are still giving him ****.

You literally didn't address a thing I said. Yea, Tarver wasn't great, but the division as a whole was ****. I don't give Dawson a lot of credit for beating Tarver either, but the fact of the matter is that he was a top fighter in the division, and the guy that brought the most money.
