Floyd Sr is overrated as a trainer. He groomed his son and did good work with DLH. That's about it.

Mayweather Sr. is a horrible trainer who rather eat Taco Bell than train his fighter.

I'd never let myself get trained by such an incompetent loudmouth crackhead trainer who never takes any sort of responsibility for his fighter's mistakes.
you're an angry person with a vendetta against Sr so it seems.

What about Roach first champ in Virgil Hill? Does Roach get credit for that or does go to Hill amateur background or does the greatest trainer of all time IMO Eddie Futch(who is Roach mentor by the way) gets the credit for training a young Virgil Hill?

And, to be fair to Roach. James Toney career at the time was going nowhere... He wasn't a top fighter anymore. Roach started working with him and James and Toney resurected his career. After beating Jirov he became a top fighter again and even won FOTY under Roach...

That was more for the sake of having a trainer to motivate him and make sure he does the work....JT (like PBF) is a Michigan product.......he was taught he was prob taught his craft by some of the trainers who PBF would have had contact with.....after all he is really the only other boxer who uses the shoulder roll effectively to avoid shots and set up offense.....Freddie Roach certainly did not teach Toney anything.............you can't teach a guy like Mayweather or Toney anything they don't already know.....

In reality they would be about even......i know Lou Dibella has stated before Sr is hands down the best trainer.....

                    Dawson
                    Guzman
                    Floyd Jr (although not current)
Laila Ali (women's boxing.... yes i know....but she knows her ****)
                    Worked with Delahoya

So he has some good names in his stable....and look at what he can do if he trains some1 from an early age (Jr)...

And we will see what Justin Jones can do if he turns pro.......
