    after ufc1-2 , the prices for teaching brazilian jiu-jitsu went up like crazy.

    a lot of people saw the 1st ufc's and see this skinny guy beat all these roided up muscle men.

    back in the days the gracies use to teach out of garages , now they have multiple facilities all over the place.

    there's just more money in teaching bjj/mma nowadays.

    tae kwon do and karate schools hire bjj instructors so they can offer it as part of their school.

      well, boxing gym's in the US may not ask you for much but here in canada they for sure know how to (over)charge, its pretty much the same as MMA gyms and in some cases even more.

        bjj/mma is seen more as a fighting art while boxing is seen more as a sport.

        that's why the instructors are in higher demand.

        police departments don't usually have boxers train their officers but they'll hire a jiu-jitsu guy or submission guy to train their officers in holding suspects down and stuff.

        plus bjj instructors teaches self defense courses and anti-**** courses for women and stuff.
