Floyd vs Moralas/Barrera at 135. Why did it never happen????

Any reason. I mean in the late 90's early 00's all 3 of them were well know. Wonder why them fights never got made????

Probably weight issue but they shouldve tried!!!!

Because Mayweather was at 147 when Morales made his 135 debut. Barrera and Morales were at 126 when Mayweather went up to 135. The timing was never right.

I think a Morales fight may have been discussed, don't quote me on it.

Either way they were too far apart in weight. Morales and especially MAB were never great 130 fighters anyway, just good. Their greatness was 122-126.

Mayweather's last fight at 130 was in 2001. Morales and Barrera were relatively new at 126 in 2001 and looking towards a rematch, which they had in June of 2002. By the time Morales and Barrera fought for titles at 130 in 2004, Mayweather was already fighting at 140, or about to start fighting there.

When Floyd was at 35' I think both guys were still at 122.

Both guys prime weight is 26' anyway.

Floyd/Mosley in early 99 when Floyd was at 130 and Shane was still at 135 would've been awesome.

Floyd/Morales would've been nice when Floyd was at 130 and Eric was at 126, like around 2000/2001.

They were never in the same division Morales/Barrera were in featherweight and Floyd in lightweight.By the time they moved up Floyd headed north.Plus there was never a demand for a fight with Floyd!!!

I'd say their prime weight is 122 even though MAB did mature a little more into a boxer at 126-130, he was really strong at 122. And Morales was even stronger.

bro I have to disagree with you on the good part @ 130 ... imho both guys was still great at SFW

Erik Unified championships at 130 enroute to him becoming No. 1 fought & loss a close decision with Marco but the icing on the cake beat PAC convincingly...

Marco beat the No. 1 SFW in Erik Morales, unified some more belts, fought No. 1 contenders and only lost to JMM & Pac @130...
