They didn't want the fight in March, that's why it didn't happen, the fight will happen later this year if the two get by their respective opponents, and I guarantee NONE of this will be an issue.

A step in the right direction if Pacquiao wants to be really taken seriously at WW. As a matter of fact, this will be his toughest fight since the Marquez II fight because he will be fighting a fighter that has not been recently KO'd or is weight drained.
There were no fight night weight restrictions. It's a load of crap. Anyone who posts like it's fact is ignorant.

After getting to know Pacquiao during the press tour for their HBO Pay-Per-View main event, Clottey cannot bring himself to suspect Pacquiao of wrongdoing.
Mayweather’s supporters surely will call Clottey naïve, but Clottey couldn’t care less.
“I don’t want to do that, because I respect him so much,” Clottey said. “He’s a very nice guy. I feel comfortable around him. He’s a nice, classy guy. He respects everybody. … I don’t think Manny Pacquiao does [steroids]. But if he does that, then that is cheating the sport.”
Clottey (35-3, 20 KOs, 1 NC), a Bronx, N.Y., resident raised in Ghana, understands why steroid speculation has swirled around Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs) now that he has dominated Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto in his last three fights. But Clottey contends those fighters made mental mistakes that enabled Pacquiao to stop each of them. [Click Here To Read More]

This thread is great because all the scum has risen to the top. If I was a mod I'd be having a field day banning these clowns who contribute nothing to to discussion except ******ity and ignorance. It ruins the forums. No wonder so many great posters don't care about posting in NSB nowadays. They are all sick of the steroid talk, which forever goes round in circles and goes nowhere.
Look at the post I replied to up above. Complete ignorance and lies.
"The opposing fighter is not drained"
Cotto wasn't drained, and Oscar wanted to fight at 147. But Pacquiao gets blamed for supposedly weight draining opponents? Funnily enough, I hear Clottey doesn't have an easy time making 147. He's huge. Therefore the comment I replied to is extra-******.
"Fight night restrictions"
Simply never existed.
"Never be taken seriously as a WW"
Who is this prick? Why do we need liars on the forums?

Arum is so full of it. He'll do anything to protect his big money maker. If he was still promoting Floyd and Floyd wanted random drug test. He would praise Floyd and say it was honorable. But now he's no longer promoting Floyd and doesn't wanna lose his money maker these demands are ridiculous. When he was promoting floyd he said Floyd was better than all the greats and put him up their with Robinson. Now he's promoting Pac and NOT Floyd he says Pac vs Floyd is a no contest. And Pac would destroy Floyd. OH my funny how things changed. He went from being up there with Robinson to being no contest for Pac (a guy who he's currently promoting) are you guys getting the picture? Don't believe me about what he said about Floyd then look up "Mayweather vs Judah 2" on YouTube and see for yourself. Arum is a clown!!

I have also been riding with Clottey since the fight was annouced. I think Clottey's Defense, and counter punching will give Manny problems.
If he can just sustain a decent pace through out the fight, Clottey has this fight.
Good post.

He says you have to respect Pacquiao? I don't like this kind of talk coming from Clottey. The last time Pac got beat Morales didn't show an ounce of respect for him in that fight. This kind of mentality is why Clottey will always be a loser against the elite. And lol at Clottey turning down a rematch with Margarito and getting paid less for the Cotto fight. He probably would've gotten a shot at Pac anyway because the Cotto loss didn't stop him from getting a shot at Pac.
Now do people believe Williams still ducked Clottey? Clottey did the same exact thing that he did with Margarito to Williams.
