What you say about Floyd Sr. and Roger.....thats great, I have no clue if it is true or not-it may very well be....you said in your initial post that poeple weren't used to Floyd getting hit cleanly which is why JL recieved the decision, or something along those lines. I think Floyd was hit cleaner by Sosa and Corley...so maybe you are on to something about Floyd becoming more offensive. However this may be the wrong time to start listening to Roger. Forget about Floyd fighting Castillo, that will never happen...if Floyd wants to become champ he has to beat KT, if Floyd is remotley offensive against KT he is in big trouble, those shots that Floyd took against Corely would be unnacceptable in a match with KT. Granted he would fight KT far differently but I just don't think little Floyd can beat KT and thats what we should be talking about, not a trilogy with Castillo. -
If Floyd fights Tszyu the way he did Ndou and Corley he will be stopped. They best way for him to beat Kostya is to boxing and move the way he did against Castillo in the second fight. He doesn't have to look great he just has to win in order to become champion. That's where I think the problem is. He feels he has to look great in order to appeal to the mainstream audience and become a superstar which he does but it would be bad for him in my opinion. Defense is what got him this far and defense will take him as far as his body will let him. I think or at least I hope he is smart enough to know using his defense will help him in fights with Tszyu and Gatti.Comment

I respectfuly disagree with both you and mic573. I have the Sosa fight on tape and I dont think he got hit that much. I was thinking one time that I dont know if he got hi a total of 10 times the whole fight. See I think you just always count the punches that land, but I dont. He was getting hit but alot of the time that's Floyd's defense. He'll let you hit him as long as he's picking the shot's with his arm's and gloves and slipping. Their not landing cleanly and he's tiring you out. It's just like when N'Dou had him on the ropes. As for the Corley fight I think people make to much of a big deal out of the fight. Floyd won every round and droped him twice. He got hit more but he's also a southpaw. You can have perfect D sometimes and they still land flush on the chin and it hurts more because you dont see it coming or you do see it and you have the perfect D and it still hits you flush. People like to compare Floyd to Judah and Mitchell because their slick boxers. The thing people forget is that they are lefties. Zoo loves fighting lefties because he can kill them with the straight right. He has power but he cant KO everyone. He didnt hurt Tackie, Leja, or Urkal and they are all righties. Stand up in your house right now in the Mayweather stance and pretend Zoo is throwing the straight right at you. No way he hits Floyd with that punch. He can see it coming all day. He'll miss the whole fight and if he lands Floyd will roll on the punch and take the sting out of it and if he throws that sneaky left hook Floyd always keeps his right hand on the side of his face like a pair of ear muffs. You know how prepared he will be for that straight right. People who think Zoo will just walk and run straight through Floyd because of his power are crazy. They act like Floyd has no skills. You think he wont be countering and sometimes giving Zoo a boxing lesson. This will not be a easy fight for Zoo. Floyd is quicker, faster and has the better D. He will land way more punches in the fight. Zoo will have the harder shots but I think most of them wont be clean. That's what I'm saying DLT he will use defense in a fight against a guy like Tszyu and not try to take him out the way did against Corley. I have said before that people make too big of a deal about the Corley fight because Floyd won that fight easy. Tszyu will not walk through Mayweather because Mayweather won't be there for him to walk through. Both fighters will have thier moments but if Floyd fights smart he will win.Comment

I don't make a big deal about the Corley fight, Floyd dominated a ****ty fighter plain and simple. I just stated that he took some nice shots from Corley...I know Floyd will be prepared and trust me I am not underestimating FLoyd, I think Floyd is the most talented fighter in the wolrd right now. However KT may be the best offensive fighter in the world, he will land against any fighter you put him in with...his defense is bad by design-he is will to take a couple of shots to get in one of his and he is unbelievably consitent with that...you will never watch a KT fight and say "why doesn't he let his hands go." KT wasn't suppposed to hit Judah....turns out it was no problem, Mitchel was supposed to give him all sorts of fits....no problem...Floyd will certainly hit KT, but KT will bum rush him for twelve rounds and I would like to think he will have a lot more success than JL Castillo did-alot more success means a KT victory. I think it is a u pickem fight from an odds stand point, but there is one thing I find interesting in this possible matchup which is...When Floyd moved up to 135 what did he do? He immediately called out the best fighter in the division and got him in the ring. Now Floyd is at 140...okay fighting Corely, testing the waters-no problem....second fight vs. Henry Brusesles...ok this is interesting...third fight probably against Gatti...If Floyd prides himself on fighting the best then he needs to take a look in the mirror, not one of these three opponents is in my top five in the division....Floyd will have moved up to 140 and for at least two year not become a champion? Thats seems a bit wierd for the most talented fighter in the world (GAtti doesn't count, he's not a real champ). There is 1 champ at 140 and 1 champ only...my question is simple...why has Floyd not elected to even mention the best fighter in the division and the possible matchup?Comment

He wanted to fight Gatti in the first fight. Go look at the thread I have about Floyd's resume vs Zoo's resume and read my post I speak about opponent and networks but like I said the guy he wants before he fights anyone is Gatti. Not because he thinks Gatti is the best but because that's the fight with the biggest money and exposure. It would be his first PPV fight and if he brawls he can gain alot of mainstream fans that will make his future fight and earnings much bigger. If he fights Harris now it will be on HBO and he will make lik 2.5 or 3 million but if he fights him after Gatti he thinks it could be on PPV and he could make 5 million or more and it's the same theroy for the Zoo and Spinks fight. They will be big now but maybe huge after the Gatti fight. He's trying to get at a Morales-Barrera type level and the only way he has a chance at that is to fight Gatti. That's why he was going to jump from 135 to 154 to fight Oscar. He didnt say he wanted to move to 154 or fight any of the other fighters up there but he knew a fight with Oscar would bring the money and the fame even if it was a big chance at losing. The things you would gain out weighs the things you could lose. The only guy around the 140 division who is close to Oscar in terms of money and fame is GattiOriginally posted by scapI don't make a big deal about the Corley fight, Floyd dominated a ****ty fighter plain and simple. Castillo is a slow starter to begin with even in the Mayweather fight he didn't do much until the 5th round. I'm just saying what he said but I know he is a slow starter and always has been.Originally posted by scapWhat a fighter says before a fight means absolutely zero. Fighters rarely do what they say they will do, these comments by Castillo may be more of a poker game than anything else. LEt Casamayor think Castillo is going to start slow, he may get something totally different....I expect to see Casamayor down at least once within the first three to four rounds.Comment

I am following you, he may start slow but again I think he will surprise some people in the first four rounds...at least we will have lots to talk about on monday!Originally posted by mic573Castillo is a slow starter to begin with even in the Mayweather fight he didn't do much until the 5th round. I understand completely that Gatti is the money fight in the division, he is also easy pickings for an elite fighter like Floyd, easy pickings. It would be smart too fight Gatti and probably ****** to go after anyone else until he gets the Gatti payday...but if Floyd wants to be champ he needs to fight KT...if KT fights two or three more fights and then retires and all the while Floyd had been sitting in the 140 division without challenging KT, then Floyd will have some credibility problems..he is the one who has constantly brought up that he wants to fight the best...with Gatti he is not fighting a guy that is even in the top five, let alonge the best. Good post though I really can't disagree with anything you say, good scrap!Originally posted by DLTHe wanted to fight Gatti in the first fight. Read post #6 on the "Zoo's resume vs Floyd's resume thread".
