Ortiz gets the KO. Good bounce back victory.

    Ortiz TKOs Alatorre in 10th

    By Francisco Salazar at ringside

Welterweight contender Victor Ortiz (26-2-1, 21 KO’s) knocked out Hector Alatorre in the 10th and final round at Club Nokia at L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA. Ortiz started slow against the defensive-minded Alatorre, but came on aggressively as the bout progressed. Although Alatorre (16-9, 5 KO’s) had his moments, Ortiz was in command as he landed the more effective punches. In the 10th round, Ortiz stunned Alatorre with a left hand before dropping him with a right uppercut to the head. Alatorre stood up and walked to his corner on shaky legs, prompting referee David Mendoza to step in and stop the bout at 51 seconds. Next for Ortiz is a rumored bout against former world champion Nate Campbell.

I know alot of people flame Ortiz now n days....but that kid is gonna be alright. I just hope he gets his mental health together, but expect him to have a coming out party against campbell.

Ortiz has the skills, but dosen't have the will. He's the Mexican version of Zab Judah.

how is this a good bounce back victory the guy he fought has lost 6 out of his last 7 and i dont want to hear about how he has never been stopped who has he fought? this was a glorified sparring session a stay busy fight and that is all a good comeback fight is going to be against cambell a guy ortiz should beat but with his experience might prove to be more difficult then expected

For once I agree with Doug Fischer. Ortiz was just trying to get some rounds in, and he could have knocked Alatorre out whenever he wanted. Nate is still going to hurt this dude.
