Interesting observation in that Showtime telecast where one of the guys said, "Are you surprised no one has figured out how to outpoint this guy yet?"

I personally am. He's a very slow starter and gives early rounds away like it's his job. However, I believe that slow starter mentality tends to pay off big time for him because unlike Margarito (another typically "slow starter"), Abraham really reserves his energy and explodes as the rounds progress.

I can see Dirrell winning certainly, but like you say Champ, he needs to capitalize on the first 6 rounds.

Abraham is too statinary and doesnt throw enough punches to beat Dirrell.

So fatigue already set in after 5 rounds? Because I had Jermain just 1 round winning after the 5th vs. Abraham...If one breaks the other down with bodyshots it will be AA...AA even dominated Taylor with the jab mid-rounds with his guard low...

Taylor was backing him up with the jab, landing his straight right hand and punishing Abraham to the body(wich Abraham doenst like it).

Abraham is very flat footed, he moves roboticly and besides his high guard, power and straigght Right hand, he doesnt have much to offer.
His hooks are wide as hell and he doesnt throw too many combinations.

If Dirrel jabs and jas, and throw combos to the body he got this. Im smelling a Ward-Kessler type upset less the headbutts!!!
All Abraham has is a punchers chance.Dirrell is an elite fighter, pound for pound one of the best.He will hit the side of that body and some inside shots too.People forget Miranda once broke Arthur's jaw, basically he's hittable.I hope Arthur has a plan B when he sees things getting wrong.

Those few punches connecting might very well be enough, considering AA being one of the hardest hitters at 168 at the moment and having the highest connection percentage (around 45% in powershots) of all fighters in the tourney...just being the most effective...

i dont think the plan is to break him down with bodyshots, it's to make him bring the hands down for a bruisin

They showed a connect percentage (similar to Compubox) in AA last fights (starting from the Miranda fight I believe) and he always had a percentage around 45 percent in power shots (though only seen on the German broadcast, maybe also on the international one)...
