    Boxers who have inspired you

Off the top of my head:

Muhammad Ali: I didnt always agree with what he did, but he was willing to speak his made and face with the consequences of his actions. He was also willing to test himself and face down his fears even though no one believed he could beat certain fighters

Erik Morales: Still finding out about this guy, but he was a true warrior he always gave 110% and never made up excuses for his losses. A very dignified individual

Steve Collins: Not the most talented boxer but he made the most with what he had. Showed a lot of heart in all his fights that I have seen

bernard hopkins for making the most out of pretty limited physical gifts and hardship (5 year bid and coming out early-mid 20s and turning life around completely)

Oscar De La Hoya, was poor, didn't like boxing as a kid was forced into it by his father, becoming a great amateur star, his mom gets cancer and before she dies he promises her an olympic gold medal, he gets the gold medal, goes on to becoming a 6 division champ, PPV King, and a successful promoter.

Good example I never thought he was as athletically blessed as the Jones or Toneys of the world, but he made up for it will dedication and mental toughness. A lot can be learned from his example. Also extra credit for never going back inside.

Oscar was poor as a kid? I never knew that, I did know about his strained relationship with his father I think they are ok now. But he has had a very successful career and full credit to him

Arturo Gatti - Real life Rocky. Guy wasn't the greatest fighter around but he his heart could never be questioned. And more than that, he was exciting. R.I.P.

Micky Ward - Can't mention one without the other. Ward had, if anything, fewer gifts and a bigger heart. He had an unbreakable chin and unlimited heart. Loved watching him take two to give one, and he was a fearsome body puncher. Gotta love that.

Muhammad Ali - Had the courage to stand by his convictions. And, obviously, an exceptional fighter.
