I doubt this, too. Cotto was hungry and ko'ing guys out left and right. When did Ricky say this? What do you mean he's "always" said it?Comment

He mentioned it in afew clips on Sky Sports that he would of liked to fought Cotto....Sky Sports used to ask him who he would wanna fight and he would say Cotto if my memory is right.
I think Hatton told Steve Bunce that he wanted to fight Cotto cos he could of broken his heart.
IMO, Hatton would of probaly beat Cotto at 140 after the Kosta fight.Comment

ricky hatton never knew who cotto was he has never ever ever mentioned is name FACT!!! he has never said he wanted to fight him when it would of done good business sense in that they are both at cross roads in there career winner gets a big fight loser is f**ked but hatton never mentioned it just wants a small sized marquez to bully around
cotto is a grade A fighter, hatton is a class b fighter he does have good footwork but cotto would of destroyed him
everyone who describes hatton has always classed him as over rated!!! i really hope cotto gets hatton in the ring be a fantasic ****ing 20 mins seeing cotto smash hatton around with the left hook!!!Comment

When did Ricky say he wanted to fight Cotto? What do you think of mrbigshot's post? I have no idea of any mentioning of a Cotto-Hatton match back then after he beat Kosta. Are you taking into consideration how brutally Cotto was ko people out back then?He mentioned it in afew clips on Sky Sports that he would of liked to fought Cotto....Sky Sports used to ask him who he would wanna fight and he would say Cotto if my memory is right.

@140, it would have been an interesting matchup, cuz Ricky was quite a pressure fighter back then. He just never stopped swingin. He always kept pushing forward. This is just the kind of style that Cotto has problems with nowadays, is pressure fighters.
He don't do so well being backed up. I don't know how he would have handled Ricky back then, but it's an interesting matchup. I don't recall Cotto having problems with pressure fighters back then, but then again, my memory ain't what it used to be...lol.
I'm gonna admit i never liked Ricky, and i was pissed when he beat Kosta, cuz he was one of my very fav boxers back then. Mrbigshot says Ricky never mentioned Cotto at all. You say different. I don't know. I guess a link would help but I'm not asking you to provide one.
I'm not even trying to dispute what you say. I think you have an interesting point. Even though, we disagree, i respect your opinion, and i will admit Ricky was very good back then, but both him and Cotto seen better days.Comment
