I wanted Amir to fight Maidana as well but because Amir is keen on fighting in the US next his opponent needs to be someone who can fill empty seats. Maidana cant do that, Paulie can. Amir isnt well known in the US (yet) himself. Only if Amir was to fight in the UK next you could say he ducked Maidana.
