Man, I don't feel like going back over old territory. I do know one thing though. We never saw Cotto perform up to standards against the other elite opponents he fought after that. Is Jennings elite? I honestly think Cotto took damage against Mosley that a lot of people aren't aware of.
Cotto vs. Foreman: Is Miguel running away from the welterweight division?

Cotto seems to have his mind on retiring soon, maybe even win lose or draw againt Foreman. But what other boxer has given as much as him in terms of facing the best giving his all in fights? Some of these articles just ******.Comment

He's fought the very best at 147, so why not give 154 a li'l try before retiring? I think it's a good move from him. The Foreman fight has the makings of a pretty good scrap, and can possibly make Cotto a 3-division world champion.
Go for it, Migs!Comment

The reason Cotto hasn't looked too great since is cause Margarito beat the fight outta him. Mosley did some damage, but it didn't hamper his career in any way.Comment

You don't want to go over old territory because you didn't have an answer to justify your comment then, and you don't have one now.

Maybe Cotto has lost his desire, probably why he is talking retirement. The guy has a pretty accomplished and long career amateur and professional. Could that be because of disapointments in his loss to Marg or Pac? Who knows, ask him. It does seem that he is slipping maybe because of the damage, no real trainer, lack of desire but of course he has shown this "slippage" against the best. Interesting people who dislike fighters cant just state I don't like this mofo rather than nitpicking on half truths and opinions.Comment

The Mosley fight was tough and it was close. But I don't think it took something out of Cotto like the Margarito fight did and how the Pac fight probably will. Aside from the small cut he got in the final minute of the 12th from a headbutt, Cotto looked unscathed after the fight. I have no idea how he did cause he took some bombs, but he looked no different than the beginning of the fight.Comment

Too long of an article but who do they want him to fight? He just came off a big fight where he did take a beating. Moving up and taking on a belt holder, in a fight where his opponent is a New Yorker and Cotto having a large fan base there makes a ton of sense, money wise too. It's a perfect comeback fight for Miguel imo.Comment
