Shaw became upset after reading a recent news story on BoxingScene.com about a possible fight between Valero possibly fighting Lamont Peterson in the month of June. [Click Here To Read More]

Boxing gets on my nerves sometimes. Its 2 political. Everything is money this & money that. Its bad enough fights don't get made because of this, now we gotta deal with this back & forth trash talk from promoters & fighters.

        Give me a break

Look, i respect Arum, but he cant actually expect the boxing fans to buy that LAME excuse, come on, he knows he was never serious about putting him in with bradley, as his 1st try at 140. He just used bradleys name for promotional reasons. If he beats Peterson, then yes, Arum will then do it. HA! HA! these promoters are such big liars. Animal out

I bet all of my points that if Valero KO's Peterson, there will be a split issue, with Arum either wanting Valero to get 50 or more than 50% (which Shaw would be ******ed to agree to)...

            F**k Bob Arum

Arum is the biggest POS in the game. Put Valero in the ring with Bradley and he gets beat the **** out of. 11 to 1 round beat down. Shows some balls Arum and test your guy. ***in *****.

So Arum and Todd deBouef are no longer in the negotiations business? I think Top Rank is trying to build Valero's myth on the back of a proven JWW champ. And for anyone who needs this spelled out for them - Valero's next fight will not be against Tim Bradley, even if Shaw offered him the moon! Bradley beats Valero every way but Sunday.
Arum is slimey but Shaw is too.

Rick, this rather begs the question: why didn't Arum simply pick up the phone, ring Shaw and ask him? He could have given Shaw a verbal deadline if Shaw didn't have an immediate answer. And why did he apparently stop taking calls from Shaw? This seems to me to be the height of unprofessionalism on Arum's part. Did you get an opportunity to ask Arum any questions, or did he just send you a statement?
